A Harvard?? Nice! That much have been dreamy (once you begin to ignore that incredibly noisy engine!!)!! lol! If ever you get another chance, and can take a friend, let me know!!

I used to fly De Haviland Chipmunks in the UK, and really loved that floating feeling!! You just don't get that in a 747!! Its just like being on a bus or train, but at 40,000ft!! Hah!

So when is the 'Cape Town Fish Keepers Aircraft Enthusiasts' day out gonna happen??

Maybe we should start a new thread lol!! Then again, since I started this one, I'm aloud to highjack my own thread!! haha!!

    G!

    I've got FLight Simulator X.

People give me very wierd looks when I say I'm going to go fly to PE, or Cape Town... they just don't understand the passion. Then again, most people don't understand the fish keeping passion either. We must all be a bunch of freaks!

Oh, and a on a second thought. My father-in-law is also crazy about planes. He use to spend entire weekends on his pc with flight simulator. He'd do a trip from OR Thambo to London in real time from Friday night onwards. And then on a Saturday he'd do a short trip to Spain or Ibiza from London.

We paid for him to go do his first flight lesson with a flight school at Lanseria, and it tuned out that he took off, flew and landed all on his own with the instructor just holding the secondary controls for safety. So Flight Sim is pretty close to the real thing.

I do enjoy flying in FSX (Flight Sim X) but I get a bit bored after a while, mainly because you don't get that floating sensation!! I did 'fly' a university flight sim (full 3D movement) back in the UK, and even managed to land it smoothly, where as the Prof who had ago before me landed sideways on the airfield!! Well, actually he was just outside the airfield!! Thank goodness it was a simulator!!

As for the fish thing, most of the people think its pretty cool to hear that I'm a 'fish breeder', which I was surprised by cos I thought they'd look and think@ right, we got a weirdo here'!!

    Cheers
    G!

No offence taken! Reputation added in good faith!
When I spend more than 5 months in Zambia, the locals couldn't pronounce the "G" in my first name, and rather called me "J.C." I did however explain to them (and you!) what the initials stood for!
These locals in Mfuwe (Zambia) used to bring me elephant noses and other interesting little fish to put in the 2 tanks. Every week they brought insects and buckets of river water for the tanks! I always thanked them with:
    "Geee.. Thanxs!"... followed with laughter!

    Bit of a delayed response...
My grandpa's always called me "Muffin", and my dad's always called me "Madam".. Well, when I got married, my grandpa firmly instructed my hubby that the name "Muffin" is strictly reserved for him only...

So I went with Madam. And sometime I can be a real madam about things.

    Hey Dolphs!! (sorry couldn't resist)

Really sorry to hear that!! I only call you Dolph as I don't like to use peoples real names on forums unless they do, so from now on would you prefer your name?? Or A.??

    Cheers
