Updating the convict tank

Thanks guys .. glad you still like to see the results... passion vs addiction - my personality is the latter.

Obviously the flowers stay open way longer in this setup.


Above the one that opened a few days ago.



very pleased to see the other center plant opening this morning.



It looks rather violent ...


I think this is it for this flower burst now to see some new leaf growth ..

The cutting are doing well.





some of the moss clumps are really growing fast.





Even managing to rescue some buce cuttings

While I was at it .. look what I spotted ...




1 more flower is pushing out..
well that and the new leaf on the AK



convinced me to look at increasing the plant mass.


Adding some anubias .. less splash will be interesting to see how this develops oh and some roots of something I found on a shelf in a jar ... think it is still viable lets see.


More buce and anubias rescue


and a bit of moss on the wall added .. - did you spot the two rescues on the left ?



Keen to see them progress a bit.



and a bit more moss on the front log.



planting it in sessions leads to layers ... think that is the way to go with these type of tanks.

Nice, I love this tank - @f-fish is that filter sponge behind the green netting?

 

Looks amazing. I have the same LED light that I'm currently using for emersed growth. Might do what you have done and pop two or three on a rail above my 100l... I'm loving some of those plants

This tank no where near cuttings yet - probably a good 9 months to a year to go.

Yeah discovering new growth is great - that said some plants are not doing great - almost as if it it too wet.

Lol - not sure I would call it a talent more a grow or die, we can try anything attitude.

 

It must be 'the attitude' because everything grows for you!!

lol - I wish ... plants go though phases with me. I seem to be in a non-stem situation at the moment.

Desperately need to run a few BIG WC's but the temp is just too cold.

Did get a few tubs of citric acid - seems like I am in for a big dousing of some of the older slow growers.

From the pull on 36 degrees a did get a few donor plants to this project.






I have had to add more splash rocks .. turns out nothing likes being waterboarded ..






Yeah good amount of splash .. hope it still gets onto these bit int he front right.

The more I look at the shelf on the convict tank the more ideas I get for the moss tank. Excelent work your doing here Ferdie

lol - not that simple ... need space to put it

got more moss from the outside tanks .. did not wet it, want to see if water splashed that high.


added this anubias as a tester - furthest to the front left


and this java fern on the right front.


Hope the splash can reach to the top for these guys





gotta let is sit now see what grows and what dies in the next few weeks.

Point taken ... this is no longer a convict focused tank - I need to think bigger.
