Vee i understand why zoom gets so worked up. There's threads where he gives correct and factual info and he gets told he is an idiot that doesnt know what he is talking about.

I think its time that some of the newer guys to some googling after someone has giving them info to check it

That's exactly it. I've spent my time researching, reading, ASKING QUESTIONS FIRST, getting the knowledge... I'm trying to help out the new guys, and then there are other new guys who just come and give COMPLETELY false information, and we wonder why there is so much "Myths" in the hobby. When I joined, I ASKED QUESTIONS... I then started getting smart and answered a few questions... other people were quick to correct me, and that's how I learnt. I didn't JOIN the forum, and within a day give my personal advice on everything... and half that advise be wrong.

Some guys are complaining that the newbies are being chased away... well I'm sorry to say that some of the OLDER guys are going to be chased away with the attitude given to them, and then the forum will have no experience!

Have you not noticed how quiet it has gone amongst the more experienced guys?

I can completely understand that. True wisdom is understanding that you know nothing, said someone. I think that is the best policy, ask, ask, ask, only tell when you feel truly qualified. Otherwise you're just messing people around...

yeah, i believe that Henk's and Zoom's "attitude" is the correct attitude, otherwise there would be total chaos, i for one am civilized, if there are rules and regulations to follow, then follow it, its been put into place for a reason...just yapping off your trap without letting anyone know who you are, how much experience you have and what you keep, is pure stupidity to say the least...i must admit to you all that if the forum continues in the fashion that its going, i will leave...i joined to gain knowledge and experience, not to argue with people who i know nothing about...fair enough i'm a newbie but i'm also from the old school just like most of the older members on this forum...its totally disgusting to treat a dedicated member of the forum like he/she is being a drag, if they are being a drag then theres a reason for it...i personally feel that its time for the moderators to step and make some changes with regards to the "newbies"...

    JesseG,

You've made some valid points there. The moderators won't though.

I think it's time the oldies stood up. New blood is brilliant, BUT have some manners, and show respect to the people who do spend hours online researching. When last did you see the likes of Laure post? Of Guido? Some of our best experts on this forum have disappeared unnoticed because of all the clatter and rubbish we dealing with. But it's ok... the numbers are showing 800+ members... (reality... 30-40 active members)

its a shame that some of the best experts have vanished, i would've loved to have heard what they have to say...we need experienced people who know what they are talking about, the addition of the professor was brilliant and his input is always interesting and educational...this is a wonderful forum, it would be a bloody shame if most the older members left..."go ahead, make a stupid comment, make my day!" lol, nice one...
