Oh well. While on holiday still i signed into my cameras to check on my fish and we'll this happen.


Had a friend go over and we'll he thinks it's no crack (he's got a few tanks of his own and quite clued up with fish keeping) and said the issue is caused by this filter dislodging and spraying water all over the top


So we've filled the tank minus the other filter and I'm just monitoring the water level. Have a cleaning company in the morning to sort out my apartment hoping some of my stuff isn't damaged.

Sorry dude! That sucks! Nothing you can do from there so let the cleaners do the job and enjoy the rest of your holiday!

 

This holiday has been nothing short of disastrous. Lol every week a new challenge.

Yeah I'm really stoked to have caught it in time. Apartments all clean, only a carpet has been water logged (wife was looking for a reason to buy a new one). Rest seems all okay thankfully. And tank held water over night with no sign of loss overnight. I guess that's the end of me keeping that overhead box filter lol

I don't blame you for not wanting to come just yet. To be honest I don't regret coming its just that it's quite a mission to return and the events over the last few weeks makes it a little more uncomfortable

 

Yikes about the water loss!!
So glad the camera setup came in handy and you were able to notice it and get it all sorted quickly.

Yeah also for us. We have to quarantine 14 days outside SA before re-entering the UAE and if we go from an amber country we quarantine at home for 7 days, no quarantine if it's from a green country.

We knew this was going to be the scenario, just trying to find the right place to go to that we won't get bored of in 14 days and also one that wouldn't just become red listed. Gamble indeed.

Yeah my paranoia really came in handy this time around. Glad I lost no fish. Also that filter pumps at 3500lph so definitely would have been done in moments. I'm really thankful I had a friend to assist.
Its Okay about the holiday, being home was worth it in the end
