So I'm about to begin my journey in a few hours. I am a lunatic indeed and I think I need help.

I think it's awesome you have everything on wifi plugs and cameras set up to keep an eye on things.
My one question is, do you have someone you can call on if there is a problem? Like if you do see water leaking, or the water going green or murky, or fish dying or anything?
I know your helper will be around, but you've indicated you don't really trust her to do more than top up the tanks. So if you do pick up on a problem with one of the tanks, is there someone you can call to sort it out?

I love how you picked up on this and made sure you cleared it up haha. So the one guy I know who has a fish shop has promised me that he will be able to see to my tanks needs in the event of a situation and he lives a road away from me (practically next door tbh) he has the spare key and will also check on the fish once a week and fill food containers should they need.

I have done a study on the big tank by not changing water for 2 weeks and tested 50ppm nitrates. So tank should do on its own. However I've added some sweet potato to my overhead box filter. I'd they rot he will remove but If not then they'll definitely help with nitrates in my absence

Must be the best thing while on holiday knowing everything is fine and being able to check on them visually.

Only just realised that this thread was not updated.

So my planted tank had a serious case of hair algae. The cichlid tank had a pipe come loose of the overhead box filter which flooded my apartment but thanks to a friend who was there in no time all my fish managed to survive.

In total the tanks were left for over 2 months and even though I lost a few fish, it was not too bad considering the tanks were left unattended. Both my auto feeders had just around half the amount of food left in the containers so I definitely did accomplish this. The only thing I'd like to do for the next time is to have water changes automated somehow which I'm going to try to make a possibility
