Good luck with that, had difficulty in getting the diffuser working properly.
The best one that worked with the bottle set-up I had previously was the syringe and cigarette filter. Only works well for a couple of days though ,then you need to replace the filter.

Sure when I get home I will send pics of my garden bottle.
All you need with that is an old air stone, suction cup ,small bolt and nut and silicone.

Hi Mat, the diffuser is gonna play a big role in your bottle set-up the fancy ceramic one needs quite a bit of pressure before it starts pumping c02.

I found this old garden bottle with the pump cylinder quite rusted and just decided to block off all the inlets and outlets of the pump action.Although if it is working, you could use it to add more pressure to the system. [IMG]

I used an air stone and broke the stone part off ,and used a suction clip.
    Cut it off like this[IMG][IMG]
I fit that infront of the cannister with the inverted piece of the airstone clip with some silicone for good measure.

    Hi Mat ,just an update.

I fitted and old co2 flow meter ,and I have much better control of the output .Especially in the first couple of days where your yeast mixture would pump uncontrollably.

    hey guys,

The Anubia definitely wont be enjoying that open exposure to the light, too much light always made my anubia develop blemishes and seemed to stunt growth. They definitely dont like their roots being buried so that was the first point.

I missed what the other plants were but are you certain they are aquatic ?

There is a lot to be said for a decent substrate and its worth investing in however i have also had and seen good results with PFS which is pretty lifeless to start.

Perhaps that substrate you are using is releasing something into the water column which the plants aren't liking.. do you know what your PH is at present ?

Maybe try a restart with a different substrate ? its a once off investment will be cheaper and more effective long term than all the liquid ferts you are using up.

    hi everyone

so i stand to be corrected but just a simple thing im noticing that i think would be a problem... just 2 bettas in a 3 foot tank with those water changes. i feel that the fish are not producing enough waste to assist the plants and the water changes are just making it worse. wouldnt it be beneficial to just add more fish?
