lol, you are only seeing half of the one wall, there are three more walls like that and another two rooms with tanks in them... I've been there and it is quite impressive!
@pHish_man, they are looking great and they are even more beautiful irl. Well done on what you have achieved thus far :)

Interesting line you are developing. Can't wait for the local waters to warm up a bit - I am going to do some serious wild guppy hunting!

Tks, to be honest though, the snakeskin line is not my focus, my main goal is to produce black guppies of the same quality as my ATFG line, just stronger.

Btw, careful of ' wild guppies ' as these tend to be gambusia affinis and they don't breed with domestic guppies, I know, I tried this a few years back with no success.

    Hi Ferdie

yes I love guppies too, interesting to breed with too. What has helped me with my hybrid black strain is knowing who the originally parents were.

looking forward to seeing your entry in the guppy challenge.

    Good luck,
    andrew

He he he .... and my post was way before Vis posted the evil plan to rekindle the global (ok TASA) love for guppies.

Just caught out my hybrid blacks to move them to a breeding tank as the females are heavily pregnant and I wouldn't mind catching a few of the fry. Here are the adults in a bucket

Yes, although there are quite a few of the males that are full black. Ive now caught out the male that is the most full black with the longest dorsal and put him in a separate tank with some ATFG virgin females.

    Lets see where this goes...

Any more pics of the male in the middle with the blue shine/spots on his back? Would be nice to select for that and form a new strain.. Well done on getting yours this far, still a shame that mine died that quickly!

Don't think you should struggle getting bigger better full blacks again.

    Yeah @Vis

Ive selected a male that looks pretty much on par with the ATFG line and now have him in with the ATFG females.

    Lets hope this works.

From all the reading I now see why they sell these atfg guppies in trios.

They should be bred in two different lines and cross bred every 3-4 generations or they will loose size and color due the gene pool being limited.

Ideal would be if you line bred for size and one for color. That should keep them strong for a long time.

Ok in light of this exciting guppy challenge, I have decided to put a bit more attention into my own mission to create a healthy all black strain of guppy. So after almost 2 years of breeding I have the following hybrid male selected in with 3 virgin ATFG females. Lets see where this goes.....
