Thats 100% with me im in no rush, i dont actually have any fish at the moment i planting my tank today and then i want to let it settle and let it cycle a bit (i will be doing about a 70% water change).

But as i said in no rush and that would be awsome. I will keep in contact, could u posibly send me a PM once you know a bit more detail about when this person is coming etc?

Ok.....
Got some containers from Plastics for Africa this weekend. Will do a test run this week to see how well they do. I am sure they should be fine.

@Gaawie: I have PM'ed you about collection. Let me know ..

 

Just a quick update.
After a few heavy weeks at work and spending a whole week in Saldanha, I have finally got around to working on this.
I have prepared a starter culture in the containers that I got and will leave them sealed for the next two days just to make sure that they will be able to survive without any oxygen for that length of time.
So by Saturday I should know if this plan will work.

 

@Darryn: With your water / sugar and yeast mix on white bread, they should easily make it for at least 5 days.

All that everyone needs to do when you let them know that you have post it, is to get the setup ready. Even if only 5 worms make it up there then they'll have millions in a week or two

UPDATE:
I seem to have found a combination that will work.
I think that the cultures may even survive snail mail as well as overnight courier.

I should be able to start getting the first batches off the beginning of next week.

If I have to send the culture to you, all I am asking is postage and the cost of the containers that I have to buy (only about R2,50 each).
For the Cape Town guys, I can supply the cultures in the same type of containers that I keep my cultures, or you can supply your own. The price of the containers are about R6 each. Obviously there is no charge for postage. They are free to collect. I stay in Parklands and work in Durbanville.
Please confirm your order again, together with your location, along with how many cultures you want, and also if you want me to supply containers, so that I can start getting them ready.
I will try and post a pic tomorrow of the containers that I am using. The are easily available from Pick 'n Pay, Plastics for Africa, etc.
