Very nice! Just remember that the discus needs special care as their requirements are a bit different to most other fish :) They're stunning fish though, so read up on them in the mean time ^^,

Angels are also really beautiful fish.

Note that wattage is not so impotant as light spectrum,
    i.e. 6400 K + 10000K
Now in the 6400K range you need Cool White and Red,and in the 10000K you need Warm White and Blue.
NO yellow lights or green lights needed.

    feel free...

the reason i get so upset when this happens is cuase SAFF went EXACTLY the same route. The guys would post the crappiest tank or tanks with discus thats got crushed coral for a substrate and all the other forum members would post something in the line of "OMG that so cool bru!"

    anyway - rant over

Is it so wrong to tell a guy that his tank looks nice? Some of us are still learning and don't recognise all plants yet. Isn't this what forums are for, for the newbies to learn and the experts to correct us and help us? I thought forums were about building communities? I'm sorry, maybe I've got it all wrong.

    /rant over

But you would'nt put 20Watt 6400K T8 with no reflectors over this tank, would you?Of course spectrum range is important, but for a beginner, light intensity would make more sense. He can then gain experience with the equipment he has got.And he's got some decent lights as standerd. He just have to "plant" accordingly.

Not at all Zoom. I just feel that someone should not make a comment on something that they do not have experience or knowledge of. This knowledge does not necessarily have to be in-depth but knowing that Alternanthera is a terrestrial plant is extremely basic knowledge. Even if you have bought the plant in an LFS and it didn’t survive – rather post that than something like “amazing tankâ€.

Posting on a forum for the sake of posting is not constructive and it become extremely damaging to the learning experience of a complete n00b if a n00b with a month or two’s worth of more experience feel that they are now the authority to dish out advice, which is 90% of the time incorrect or creates a false sense that they are doing something correctly.

Because 95% of the members of this forum is newbie`s themselves ? Nobody really care about the plants ? But henk, no one likes to tell someone that they have been f`ed in the a, even on masa people just tend to post how nice a tank looks and never really points out the faults.
