    AFAIK I have zero experience with aqua one products, this was a bit of an impulse buy.

    qXngGpdsSBPJgCM_nyrmwpeI3IRqSji4E3tW8PiM7Nmrs8tw3mEC34wb11sqzfqBDIXCA7AzV_YHZY7ezRw=w457-h343-no.jpg
    it does add a nice flow volume on the left hand side of the tank - since I move the aquaclear to the back this was missing and the HOB needs to come out for winter.

    Spray bar is a nice touch ... but with the pump mounted in the base at the bottom of the filter you actually have several flow options.

    Thanks ... yeah I can not stress enough the need to have a tank progress thread, no matter how small one starts. This is the true advantage of forums vs other social platforms ... content legacy.

    Catch myself regularly browsing old threads - amazing what we forget that was so obvious at one point or another.

    As a side note -- running 1 birthright and 1 sunlit on 4ft clear at the moment ... not feeling the growth love on this combination at the moment - but that might be because I need a WC - very high TDS.

    some evaporation on the tank, wonder if that is because of the extra surface spray ..

    WC done ... TDS down from 480 to 234 ..

    run the two LEDs with DIY reflectors ..

    Remove the front one and the glass sheets when working in the tank.

    Keen to see the algae reduce with a "cleaner" tank

    Lace has grown significantly with the extra circulation / aeration.

    Looking good. In nature lace tends to grow in shallow, slowly flowing water (30-50cm a water) so it makes sense, congrats :)

    Thanks, this is a fairly old plant ... so the new BIG leaves are a very good sign.

    That's awesome! Would you recommend trying the LED tubes? Maybe worth a shot on my tanks. The fluorescents are getting old

    I think so. all the 4ft tanks are on LED tubes with two of them on the new gen glass stuff, sure clear would be better than the diffused - but it is so simple to install, just add another if you suspect you are low on light.

    If i may add i run 2 of the synerji t8 led tubes with the floodlights, they seem to work really well. But they need a reflector with the 270 degree beam.

    100% .. those look lekker, yeah I need to work on getting better reflectors going if the beam angle is going to stay this wide. What I have works ok, but I can edge an extra 20% of light with better reflectors.

    Now those 900mm tubes that I need to get my paws on.
