I've recently got hold of 8 Albino Koi Guppies, with a plan to build a breeding colony.

I wondered if anyone on here has much experience with the albino strains and whether they were weaker/ harder to breed/ sterile etc?

    Anyone else breeding Albinos?

The males done seems as keen to get on the females as other strains usually do.

Sadly I don't have experience with albinos, but I have found that the more "specialized" strains, like moscow blues and cobras, seem less interested in breeding. Perhaps as a result of artificial selection or lack of competition?

My “mutt” guppies don’t stop breeding, so hopefully the albinos will step it up.

I had an albino pair of endler that I was breeding. They did produce a bit more albino offspring that usual but I didn't notice any deformities. Most of my endlers got internal parasites and died unfortunately.
I do have a long finned albino bristelnose male that has had spawns with a normal female. Most of the babies were normal and had long fins. They also didn't show any noticeable deformities. My 2nd newest spawn did have an increased amount of golden or albinos. I can't really see their eye color clearly yet.
