Born from 1 Year Guppy Challenge poll ...lets track things here.

Step 1 ) Go get some sleep, did way too much reading and recapping old threads.

But would love to get back the quality I had in 2009

Them all having a go at some Spirulina

    2) Looked for what made my guppies grow - think I had some tanks with green water - recall a plastic container that had it's own 18 W T8 no filtration but awesome guppies.
    3) Looked at breeding plans but realised about 15 minutes ago that I would need to reconsider since GA would be a real thing in my life. You may need Guppies Anonymous

I need to start somewhere ... well getting an tank going is a good place. Hopping this will be a good green water tank.

Do not think it has a name --- I deem it to be nano.

    Second tank being prepared.

Also found the glass jars I intend using.

On right back - the head where substrate goes to die.

Finding a level surface is a bit of a challenge, hope this works out and I do not split a base.

    Ferdie you seem eager :)

Actually found tanks for this project that will be perfect at a steal but need to organize someone to pick up and hold for me.

lol more a case of I need to reduce electricity so the sooner I get some out-side tanks going again, with a purpose the better.

Current thinking - get green water going then move young female outside for grow out.

Let see early days, I am bad at getting green water going. Maybe 2015 is a better year for this idea.

Yeah I also suck at greenwater tanks, should maybe start practicing.

Read it helped a lot with guppy fry grow out.

lol - just using it as a motivator.

I have been doing some reading and thinking. My inbred guppies are starting to shrink - but only those that I have not left in tanks out-side during the warmer season. So my plan is to take some "weaker" females and fatten them up on green water. Well that is the theory.

True at the moment I am trying to get a place to get the females to grow out.

But all this said, I did spot a nice bottom sword tail that I would not mind getting a few clones from.

    Lets see.

I do have an back-up plan to use these if all else fails. These actually have been earmarked for heavy fertz so not ideal for raising fish.

    possible.jpg

Got a few blonds that got dropped - two weeks or so ago so it is now or never to get them out the tank.

Ja or not enough information to work with for a short 9 month project like this.

But it is fun and a good challenge.

Need to start taking pics of possible parents.

I will up my WC's - in JHB our PH is rather high and that is fine cause I think that is what Guppies really like. Hence they hate ADA.

    wc.jpg
So did a quick 50% WC on this tank this morning, it was the over-winter tank for some of the pond guppies, Thinking of making this a single sex tank at some point.

free-floating algae bloom is what I am looking for here, this looks promising.
