Nope they definately all gone. Not surprizing tho.. these parents are a little on the more stupid side of the scale.

Yeah.. that's my plan. Had a but of a busy week. But with the addition of the sponge filter and the Nutrifin Cycle this week, I recon the sponge wilter is ready to handle the load on it's own now. Will do a small w/c this evening, and take out the old pump. They showing signs of spawning again... (cleaning leaves, glass, filter) and changing their colouring rather rapidly when they see the other angel in the tank next to them come too close.

The only way I can say this properly is

    "Oh $hit!"

I got home this afternoon and decided it was a good time to syphon the waste at the bottom of the tank, take out the pump, and do a 15% w/c!

I fiddled in the tank for over an hour cleaning the glass, vacuuming the bottom, and I even re-arranged the plastic plants to make it easier for the angels to spawn on next time.

I noticed the angels were very aggressive towards me, and were not too happy with me fiddling in their tank.

I was sitting on my pc now typing up another thread, when I noticed the angels were spitting something onto the plastic leaves, and were very irritated with the new thermometer I put into the tank to check if the heater was working. On closer inspection... I've got flipping wrigglers that look like they gonna become free swimmers in a few days!!!!

The angels had in fact moved the wrigglers off the pump downpipe to a more seculded spot as Gertjc had mentioned to me earlier!! So I'd HATE to know how many I accidentally syphoned up, or disturbed by pouring in 12 litres of water. My wife recons we have about 20 in the tank... which to me is actually more than adequete for me right now.

I've also just noticed that my (blush) WINE bottle that is sitting on the balcony with the lettuce leaves in has turned milky... so I've got some food to feed them too!
Unfortunately I cannot take pictures at this very moment, as the female is constantly getting in the way, and my "mik-'n-druk" digital doesn't focus that well.

Now I is feeling like I is very dof-like!

Don't worry to much with the missing ones. Test yourself with the remaining fry as a learning curve :blink1: There will be plenty more to come.

Here is what I did with the Jacobs pot and air tubing. Worked for me when I had my first batch gourami fry.

Just don't close the lid to tight. Otherwise the siphon will stop

Thanks ACE... your encouragement was appreciated.

Yes, your syphon set up is exactly what i plan on doing the moment hey become free swimming. Might look a bit funny with a wine bottle syphoning into the tank...heehee. Gonna have to get in touch with DOlphin this weekend for the decapsed BS.

Congrats that is great and your infusoria is ready too, good luck.

I took your advice and did a water change with cooler water in my Angel tank since then they have been cleaning the glass in the one corner of the tank so hopefully they will spawn soon.

Anyways i hope your wrigglers turn free swiming soon, maybe theres more left than you think.

If the water conditions are right, and they are sexually mature... they will spawn. Mine have spawned on the glass, filters, rocks, pots, and leaves... so they will find somewhere to do it. Now being sexually mature does not necessarily make them mature to raise the eggs. Often the first few times they eat their own eggs. Don't stress about it... it's taken me over 6 months with this pair to get this far. (Granted the previous 5.5 months were in a community tank!)

Heehee... I can get angel eggs out an angel... by to turn the angel eggs into an angel is what takes time!

Zoom, I hate to say this: " I told you so!" ...Just had to get that in, could't resist!
A lot of time, a "dirty" spot on the bottom or elsewhere, are in fact a clump of wrigglers.
Now, you should have started the brine shrimps all-ready!
    Good luck!
    Gert.

Good Angel-parents will always move and hide the wrigglers!
Sometimes you will only see the eggs, and after a few days, the free swimming fry.
They will then also pick them up and try to keep them together, but as the yolk-sacks are absorbed, the fry become hungry and more daring -that is when the parents are at their most defensive! This is the time to start feeding baby brine shrimps! don't be startled if they attack your hand close to the water surface!
    Ai! the joy's of fishkeeping!

There are about 5 of them that are now free swimming. The rest still attached to the leaf. So cute to watch the parents fetching them as they swim away... heehee.

Yep... that it is. I would LOVE to take a picture and show you guys... but they really are too tiny for my camera to focus. I've tried for the past 30 minutes.

I've been "spring cleaning" the flat today. And I've been meaning to post an update today... only managed to get free time now.

Ok, so the update goes as follows...

The luttuce leaves thing was a disaster. When I added it to the tank (1 drop per minute) my tank turned green in one day. So I am feeding on tetra fry flakes and liquifry. I popped out to Dolphin this morning, and have managed to get the decapsed Brine shrimp, which I will start tonight.

I have about 8 fry left in the tank. So not a lot... but at least I've got survivors. They are still very small, not growing fast, but that's because I'm not feeding Brine Shrimp. I'm hoping the growth will speed up now with the new food I got from Dolphin.

Now this is a question I need answering... My angels have SPAWNED AGAIN!!!

YES... they got jiggy this morning, and have laid, in my estimate, 200+ eggs. Is this NORMAL?? I honestly thought that raising a batch of fry would prefent them from spawning again?

I will post pictures tomorrow morning. Unfortunately my camera is flat, and I am busy charging it.

Infusoria made this way can be a bit messy and I am not so sure about adding it at 1 drop a minute. Guesse its like feeding a baby all they long with a spoon every minute. That napy would also turn green in a day :) (But thats my deduction.)

A ( Raap ) makes a much better and cleaner infusoria batch. Could also try potatoe.

Man I cant think of the english for a RAAP. Anyway google that and see what you find.
