    Thanks guys.

It's looking a little "untidy" at the moment. I'm waiting for the plants to fill in some more and then I may look at rescaping. I fear I may have too many variety of plants, and need to bring my limit down to about 10-15 types of plants, and then take the scape from there.
None the less, the growth and "lush-ness" is very rewarding at the moment.

There's something about a PLANTED TANK that a fish only tank just does not do!

Go for the red/pink rotala and the red tiger lotus, perhaps the easiest of the red plants. If you dont come right with the red rotala up north, I will happily send you some..

@Big G- Absolutely NO IDEA. This was given to me about 2 years ago from @slagter when he was selling up. THis is stil the original plant. It has never looked this good... and has not made any runners. Very strange indeed.

Serious? One of my plants? Hectic. It's looking good dude! In fact the whole tank is looking fantastic! Loving it! I think if you cut down on a couple of plant species, it would look awesome.

    @Zoom hey dude, looking fantastic!

my idea for something red in the tank is a bit different.. i notice many of your fish tend to be on the silvery colour, so on the pics you dont easily spot the fish, how about adding a small school of long finned red serpae tetras? that would introduce some nice red to the tank..

the tank looks great, but i think adding fish that have more "colour" would perhaps give you more of that contrast you seem to be looking for, to divert from all that green..

Yep. When I bought those Apisto's from you you chucked in a single Crypt for me to try out. It actually lost all it's leaves when I originally planted it, and when it revived itself, the leaves never got longer than 10cm. Now with the PFP, the EI dosing and the CO2, it seems to be going WILD. Leaves are not in excess of 20cm long.

That is my plan.. but what I am doing for now is letting the tank grow wild so I can decide which plants are doing well. No point in keeping plants that aren't doing too well.

That looks great with all the rocks on one side, it's making me itch for a rescape in my 3ft now...

i got glosso to carpet with two 18w t8's over a tank that is 40cm high. i know its rude but i don't feel like reading through the whole thread to find it, so apologies if you have already posted it. what is your lighting and fert regime, and what is your substrate?

you really need to get your co2 sorted coz glosso is not really a low tech carpet option. you might also want to relook your spraybay position or add a powerhead low down, glosso really appreciates the flow.

Hectic! Awesome! I'm glad it has survived for so long!! I might have to steal a cutting back from you soon though!!

Maybe the tank will look cool all wild? You never know dude. It might just grow in and surprise you?

Hey Ashley,I was wondering how your tank was doing and here's nice update.10 - 15 species is not so bad, just think what it'll look like with 20 - 30 species.Crazy.

@mydummyname That was actually a really good idea!!! I was originally going to go with some red or turquoise discus to bring out some colour... but I'm actually enjoying the plants so much I may not go this route yet. (If I was to go Discus there are a few things I'd need to look at changing). I haven't bought fish in over 6 months now, (damn tough I tell you!!) because I have been so unsure of what I want to do.... I'm actually considering getting rid of a lot of the current stock and getting a huge school (40+) neons!

    No stress @wearsbunnyslippers...
    1 x 30W T8 6500 K
    2 x 30W T8 10000k
    2 x 24W T5 4500k

Dosing EI macros (Saltpeter, Lenolax, Natures no salt)
    Dosing Trelmix

    PFP+Chemicult capped with Black gravel

CO2 has been running now for 3 weeks! (When I got the glosso from you 6 weeks ago, the CO2 packed up. 3 weeks later it was up and running again... during the 3 weeks it was down I was dosing excel to help)

There is a small power head at the back left (for CO2 diffusion) which does create a bit of water movement on the substrate. Actually nice cause it picks the muck up and sends it into the filters.

If I cut a leaf off will it sprout new roots? (Then you more than welcome to some!!) The only reason it has survived is because it's the one plant I have really made sure is never tossed out or cut. I love it.

Giving it a try. Only problem I have is the placement of the crypts in relation to the anubias. What you don't see is that behind the crypts is a huge amount of anubias behind which is now overpowered and covered.
