You know you addicted to fishkeeping when?

...when you finish work earlier and still have an hour to wait for the missus, who then tells you on the phone.."okay .. why don't you go to the pet shop?"

...when your standing in the kitchen and say out loud..wow , this is a sturdy counter top..and she instinctively ses.."no , not another tank" :laugh:

 

When you return to the same LPS twice in a hour just to make sure you don't want it.

your adicted to fishkeeping when your boss tells you you must start working, your spending more time on searching stuff about fish at work..
When your girlfriends dad says you should not spend so much money on the fish.
Docter booked you of from work,and a hour later you find yourself 60km away from your hometown to see what new fish scotty has today,not the first time.
also when you know you have no money left for the month and some way or another you have money for anoter few guppies and another tank.
Working a whole year knowing YESSSS bonus time,and spends your whole bonus building a pond because there is no place left for another tank.

Really enjoyed this tread,and btw,my girlfriend has a few reasons why im adicted.....

 

when you're on the boat on the way to the scuba dive site, and spot a dead bird floating on the water; and your first instinct is to reach for a net to fish it out [happened this morning hahaha]

 

when you look at a small cottage available for rent and think, hey thats a possibility and the extra side room would make an awesome fish room lol.

 

When your wife resorts to reading all the above with me to spend some quality time with her husband. When walking into a lfs she starts asking which fish she can buy you:rofl:

 

LOL! When you lay awake at night, can't sleep because you are too excited about your ATFG guppies that will arrive shortly? And setting up more than 8 tanks in one month

 

Going to the coast for holiday weaseled into bribing a park officer for driftwood ?
And then have about zero packing space coming back home

 

When you don't do the chores around the house, and your partner don't threaten divorce, but that he will poison your fish if you don't do it. And everything is done within the hour

...addicted when you start delving in marines and end up having both marine and freshwater setups.

...and when you cant believe how much you have been spending on the hobby.

...and when you dont know what persuaded you to buy that R395 fish which just died...and then have thoughts that you now have place in the tank for another...:blink:

 

when you are remodeling the kitchen and you look at the glass front cabinets and think "I wonder what size tank I can make with that left over glass and where am I going to put it" :idea:

 

When your wife tell you that your five year old daughter wants to buy you a fish for fathers day, you then drop everything, rush over to Moolis, pick the fish you want, pay for it, convince the guy to keep it in the back and sell it to your wife and daughter when they arrive the next day and then proceed to discribe your wife and daughter to him so he does not sell your fish to someone else.

Happened this fathers day.

Dreading when you have to go away on holiday in December for two weeks, worrying if the persons looking after the dogs, the parrot and the cat, feed the fishies, enough food, to much food, do water changes and it's only August now.

 

When you're busy designing a greenhouse, and you incorporate an aquaponics system into it, so you can grow out white clouds by the thousands.

 

When you are busy growing in a tank struggling to get everything settled and start planning your next tank. And in the process start an arguement with the wife about swapping the spare bedroom for a fish room. MTS
