When you spend your friday night sitting in front of your fry tank with a tape measure pressed up against the glass waiting for babies to swim into position so you can measure whether they're a good size for their age according to specs found on internet...!

When you go to the Drakensberg for a holiday and come back with all your luggage crammed onto the back seat, because your boot is full of "interesting" rocks, waterlogged pieces of wood and little plastic baggies with aquatic plants "THAT YOU NEVER NEW EXISTED."

When you're falling asleep at night and hear a sound from one of the tanks, and immediately spring out of bed with a torch to "just check!"

when you drive through Kruger park and mourn the lovely pieces of wood you cant take back with you lol. or you give your SO a look saying i been bad and the first thing he says is how many new fish did you get. you spend hour after hour after hour thinking up improvements on new tank designs in class, in the bus, pretty much everywhere lol. your always thinking about your tanks what to do to change them, what stock to put in them and what new plants you can squeeze in a tank.

You know you are addicted when, instead of doing the house renovations, you take a loan to import your own equipment because you can't find it in the country!

You know you're addicted when you're walking past Cardies and glance at the rack of calendars on display, spot one sticking out with just the word "TANKS" showing, and make a beeline for it before you realise it's actually a calendar of *military vehicles*...!

When the family has to wait outside for the car to reverse out of the garage so they can open the doors to get in, because of all the tanks lining the garage walls.

When you have to leave the garage door ajar for an hour after you park to allow ventilatation, so as to not inflict toxic exhaust fumes upon the fish.
Hour later... "Honey, I'm gonna go shut the garage door 'quicky'." - Another brilliant excuse to visit the fish again!

The above is my foreseeable future... currently awaiting delivery of my 2.5m 'workshop bench', so I can start building the tanks for the above mentioned setup.

haha man this thread is too funny! When you have only been fish keeping for 3 months or so and laugh at all the silly people for having soooo many tanks with MTS only for someone to point out that you already have 7! When your girlfriends parents come visit you for dinner to celebrate her graduation and you tell them " sorry Ill eat with you guys later but I have to set up my new fish tank quick to save my Betta!" And when you buy a tank just cause its on a good deal and you can try make that Iwagumi, planted, nano system etc you've been wanting to try your hands at and last but not least when you constantly phoning PG Auto glass for glass quotes because hey, you just feel like building a tank...............best part is my girlfriend literally just walked in and saw me typing on the computer and when she asked what i was doing and I said writing on TASA she just let out a huge siiiigh.

Ok enough now, man I guess I have it bad.

ROTFLMAO!!!! I have all of these symptoms and plenty extra too.

You know you are addicted when all the staff know you on a first name basis and you get invited to your lfs's staff Christmas dinner...

When you start designing and making your own stands so that you can go vertical to accomodate more tanks in a very limited amount of space... :blink1:

When you make everyone else late because you "need" to quickly clean out a filter or else you'll lose fish, and your mother starts a fight with you AGAIN about all your fish and tanks...

When you start dreaming of how you can make a fish room, similar to the one that the guy from swiss tropicals designed and built, in a rented house without the landlord & family complaining...

aaahhh i knew i wasnt the only one lol. you know you addicted to fishkeeping when you consider seriously packing up the nano for the annual migration down to the coast because the prospect of being away from your tanks for 3 weeks gives you chills of withdrawal symptoms lol. it woulda been a small lol

When you put your ear against the tank to hear whether your internal power filter isn't too loud for the fish.

    Lol!

I once put my LCD screen with DreamAquarium screensaver behind my tank to see how my fish would react... they weren't impressed... gave me this look as if they knew it was fake(or thought I'm a dumbass). :p

LMAO this thread is awesome! Lol okay a couple of mine:

    - When you're reading through this thread and see one saying "you pick out rocks from the coast etc for your tank".. then shout to your SO and tell him "We should do that next week when we go to Durban!" (I literally did this about 2mins ago hehehe)

    - You lay in bed and stare at the fish tank in the room trying to think of a nice rescape!

    - You dream about fish...

    - On your 'favourites' page, TASA is top above everything else!
