i have a ps2, and thats also outdated now... so consoles are evil... :D
i want it all to work on my pc. and lets face it, some games are just plain screwy on a console, you need the keyboard shortcuts and mouse etc sometimes, and where a d-pad is necessary, you plug it into the pc :D that would be cool

i'm willing to test drive win7 on a virtual machine, see what its worth, a buddy of mine has that evaluation RC one, that expires in march, i'll see if i can get hold of that

@minority - luckily people like mark shuttleworth is pumping money into getting more exposure to linux, hopefully some day it will be more widely used.
the best and worst thing about linux is all the choice you get, its so wide that standards are hard to define, thats why i'm happy ubuntu kicked off so well, the larger it gets, the better chance of holding a standard, alongside fedora, red hat and suse to name a few.

I know the MNNR/CSIR also plan on converting os to linux, my brother in law works there in programming, apparently the less resource intense linux is a better platform to run simulations and grafix sim progs on.

@ servers, isn't google, the biggest search engine service in the world, and m$'s biggest rival on that front running a form of ubuntu or debian as well? goolux or goobuntu or something?

There's a bogey at 6 o'clock. Tux, lock and load.....

In all seriousness, Gilbert, do you know where those statistics were sourced from?
