i only use prime, i dont put a lot of chemicals into the tank, i dont like adding stuff to the setup, sometimes we end up messing it up rather than improving it by fiddling too much...

you can see what i mean on a similar discussion we had here: http://www.tropicalaquarium.co.za/showthread.php?13510-Malawi-Cichlids-Water-Chemisrty see post number 9

the nutrafin cycle is also very very good, if i was gonna add anything to my tanks, that would be it.

if i work on 5ml per 200L dosage, then you need less than 1 drop per 20L, i normally overdose using about 5 drops per 25L in my new water in any event to make sure that the water i add to the tank has virtually zero nitrates. it seems that prime is very mild and fish do ok even if you overdose..

Yes I also add a little bit more, I use a 8 liter bucket with my water changes and instead of only using 4 drops I use 7 cause 7 is my lucky number.

My one Albino Tiger barb go stuck in my internal filter you will know its got that tunnel starting from the bottom of the filter going all the way up it got stuck in there.

Fins are just a tad hurt and got a scratch on its top section.

I added the dosage for my whole tank to just help with the slime coat again.

I am sure she will be fine and recover on her own with my clean water I dont think the fins will go bad.

ya, i think on a 100L the 7drops are probably enough to dose for the entire volume of the tank water..

i'm very surprised a fish got stuck in there.. normally they dopnt get caught up in stuff like tht unless they are already injured or weak...

yep, water changes are the best medicine.

Well on the bottle is says 2 drops per 4 liters so roughly you should use about 12 drops for your 25 liters.

Well on my 100 liter tank I use 48 Drops

100 divided by 4 =25 time 2 drops gives me 50 drops for the whole tank.

i dont think that amount is necessary, you could make the bottle last a lot longer using a quarter of that, but we each tend to do these things our own way and i say, if it it aint broke, dont try to fix it ;)

Oh well I am just using the dosing method they got on the bottle.

Yes like you say if it aint broke dont try to fix it.

My nitrites and nitrates are always 0 on my tests

Nope she is definitely not weak probably just got sucked up I put some filter floss in there so it wont happen again.

The filter obviously does not suck strong up that tube so fishy was inquisitive and got sucked up or stuck.

I only do the full tank volume know like my one tiger got a scratch on it and I added enough for the whole tank volume, otherwise I just use 7 drops per 8 liters of water which is the size of the bucket I use for my water changes dude.

Your water should be PRETREATED... meaning dechlored BEFORE getting into the tank. The water in the tank is already dechlored last week, why waste chemicals dechlor'ing it again?

I do pretreat my water dude. Just added the full tank volume to help fish with extra slime coating.

Just thought it would help with that, otherwise I always pretreat my water before adding it to the tank.

@hviviers75 - I think @Zoom was talking to me. I have always dosed the full tank volume but I will stop doing that now!
