Canon EOS 450D. First and thus far favourite DSLR camera. :) I like to use my 18-55mm lens (Canon) but I have used a lot of older lenses, most of which I have forgotten their names...

That was my very first digital camera! :p The battery cover broke on the first day I had it!

Is that the 18-55mm 'S' lens?

I used to get great results with mine when i had one, but I can't use it on my 5D because of the sensor size. I know lots of people complain about that lens, and I know a few people who had major problems with focusing, but it seems theres quite a bit of difference from lens to lens! Must be poor quality control?

Anyway, great lens when you get a good one!

    Regards
    G!

Yup, same lens, although I think I got the 'average' lens - I haven't had any real problems, but as far as auto-focusing goes, I think I could find better lenses. Despite this, having touble with auto-focus is a whole lot better than agonising with manual focus and a handful of really fast fish :p

Yer, unfortunately, that is a problem with this lens. Some one was telling me that the lens can be recalibrated, and should be recalibrated to your camera, but it seems like a waste of money to me! Especially since they are such cheap lenses to start with!

I don't have a macro lens, so I do miss having this lens, since it was quite a close focusing one, but since most of my photography is people or large objects focused, I have never justified buying an actual Macro lens. Maybe one day when I'm rich?

    Regards
    G!
