As long as your food and test kits are in sealed containers no hassle, you can even keep your plant fertilizers in the same cupboard.

After using seachem stability, the problems seem to be dissapearing. No fish dying, everyone happy

Oky how much water should I change everyday? Every week? I setted up my tank on 22nd and it should cycle. I seeded it. My readings is
    7.8 PH
    0 ammonia
    0.2 nitrites
    10 nitrates
I change about 20 litre everyday, I think I can scale down but don't know by how much

I think seachem should be used for about 7 days then after every water change' check the bottle or seachem website. 20% water change once a week should be fine. You can never. Do to many water changes in my oppinion. See the short article I did on water changes. It should help

    Hi there

I had the same Problem my tank cracked and I never cycle my tank and my fish started getting red and dying I posted a thread in diseases. I done a 20L water change i guess thats one bucket everyday for about 1 week. I got 250L Malawi tank I did loose fish but some survived and are still recovering the redness has gone. You won't believe it but my African jewels even had fry the other day I was shocked. I'm no expert but I think my prob was that I never cycle the tank the ammonia went up because of so many fish and the water changes helped. I learnt not to take advise from the Lfs because they only give me meds to put in. Best of luck hope your tank comes right

Including today I'm done with seachem stability, the bottle instructions is 5ml for 40 liters water and after that 5ml for every 80 liters for 7 days. I'm going to use it till friday,2 days extra won't hurt. I saw on their website where they advertise seachem stability and give details, that if you use to much seachem stability its harmless. I'll do a 20 liter water change on friday and then 20 litre every week. How does that sound?

2 fish suddenly just died on friday. I tested my water.
    Ph 7.8
    0 ammonia
    0.3 nitrites
    10 nitrates
I changed 20 liters of water to see if I can bring down the nitrites.
Yesterday morning my water was crystal clear, a few hours later it turned cloudy. This morning its still cloudy and my water parameters are the same as above. What happned?

How many filters do you have?

Smaller extra filters can sometimes clog up and cause spikes even after water changes.

2 internal filter that does 800liters each and one corner filter that works with activated carbon and filter floss.

Try and get a canisterfilter. I believe imo that any tank bigger than a 3ft must atleast use a canister filter

I will check for a cannister filter at the end of the month, is there no other way to get the cloudyness away?

Hi Javei, i definitely agree about changing over to a canister filter. Sometimes, even though you have internal filters with good flow-rates, the actual filter capacity is just too small, resulting in your water passing through a little to quickly and not being filtered properly... You end up with a portion of water, flowing back to the tank inadequately filtered. The main advantage of an external canister is capacity! The larger the internal capacity, the more surface area you have for the beneficial bacteria to grow. A large surface Area means, more water flowing through the media and more bacteria will grow on the surfaces of the media. Logically, more water will be returned (clean) to your tank! Phone Moolis at pet stop and give him the tank dimensions, he will recommend the correct size canister and the price,

Great... You won't be sorry and if your fish could talk, they'd thank you for it

Dophin something, I will just make sure. I was wondering, I already have 2 internal filters, so I dont have to buy a big canister filter? I can just buy a smalller one that can work with the 2 filters also running?
