Did a 40% water change. Hopefully that will help with that white stuff?

havent been really active in a while. Usually log on just to fall asleep. I sorted troy with some spiky and java. I did two of those root trees in my amazona tank. I put thin fronds of spiky moss over the wood and added a strand or two of java then tied it in a spiral with thread. Starting to grow out but for now im trimming it flat so it will attach and spread, trying to create a look of a riverbed covered waterloged, moss covered old roots. . As if the trees were drowned in a flood long ago.

im no expert so i cant really help u on this one.. any1 else?

btw, what substrate u using?tht looks like the aqua soil they have overseas??

oh crap.. i only read ur post properly now :p its a pic off the net.. got me excited 4 a min :p

and also, if it were me, id rather leave the tank and let it balance out by itself.. the tank will go through many diff phases (very fustrating) untill it becomes balanced..

    but thats just my opinion..

From what I've seen on a few people's nano tanks, that white film stuff is loved by Otos.

I had that before dosing with CO2.
    I'm running a 5liter Sugar/Yeast Mixture at the moment.

I dont think it needs CO2.

I'm only recalling what happened in my tank, I had the white film on the rocks and on the surface of the water.
I then tried the CO2 and bam, within 24hours and a 25% water change the slimy white film was gone.

My otos ate everything except the white stuff.
It looks like something that grows where there might still be some live matter or something like that .

i had that on the new wood in my 3ft tank. It went away without tamper. Apples chowed on it untill it went away on its own, i just ignored it and planted and stocked my tank gradually

A little update. Thanks Ferryman for the moss. Going to add more to the others once i see the 'sample' on growing.

Plants that were dying have indeed started new leaves! Added 60w light bulb behind them lol.
    Hair grass is also growing.
Colour is going brown again but a few water changes over the month should sort it out.
Seems to be very brown but its just the wall colour behind it

Awaiting more plants when i get the chance

Comming along nicely Troy. I would try some flame moss on some of those pieces as other moss will grow very bushy and hide you wood completely and it is such nice pieces. Almost something like in the attachment.
