Lol guys, this thread is heading to the OT zone. There are so many different types.....HEADACHE!

Thanks for the ideas, will rather want to see them in person to get a better idea.

I'm on a bit of a nano fish binge at the moment, so I'd say get nice big schools of galaxy rasboras, or brigittae, or borraras, or kubotai. Put them with with about 3 to 5 Otocinclus, and some pygmy corydoras, about 7. It'll cost a lot of money, but the small fish will make your tank look enormous!

As for plants, you should get some Amazon swords, very undemanding plants, and I think they were R10 a pot at mod edit: undisclosed LPS over the weekend. Also try your hand at some Java Ferns, I've got some that I can donate if you want.

The sump is looking good dude, I'm just wondering if you shouldn't have the ceramic noodles in some sort of mesh bag so you can take the floss out easier. And maybe add a whole lot of bio balls in the first or last compartment.

Will keep the fish in mind. PM that LPS name please.

What size is the Java fern you have? I have got but they stay small for some reason.

I should have put them in a bag, they didnt come with one. Will make a plan when its time to clean.

Don't think i can update tonight as the wood need to sink in my bath 1st lol. Think it might leach, will see

This is a pic of what i got. Still need to tie it down

The wood came from Animal Kingdom in Atterbury. Pretty much the only place that I've ever seen such nice pieces.I don't know if they'll leach tannins into the water because it's mostly light wood.

Thanks, I really do not mind the tannins in a tank. To me it looks very natural and the fish love it.

Not to derail Troys thread but between you and me the Moss tree is already growing in one of my rescaped nano tanks.

Waiting for a bigger tank almost like Troy's in witch I had some other mossy plans :)

Well FerryMan was talking about how nicely spiky moss grows, some vertical some horizontal. Spiky is what I'm hoping to use soon. And Flame if I can get hold of it. Currently I've only got Java moss, and it kinda just grows where it wants.

Got a spiky moss wall going. Must say that it is my favourite, not even christmass moss come close to it.
So troy if you are getting some moss go with spiky moss.

These day I like the look of tanks with lots of wood work and the plants complimenting that.

Ferryman said he's got some, and he's at least still in Pretoria. Maybe give him a call and see if he has any spare.I really think we need to find a way to cultivate more types of mosses on a larger scale here on the forum though. Find someone with spare tanks let it grow wild!
