Can you put the rocks on the left and put them around the plants there or remove them. Not saying it looks bad but it does break the "flow" as Amano would say.

You see the eye follows the scape from left to right and when your eye reaches the rock stack the flow is broken.

Try it. Slowly look from left to right and you'll "feel" it.

Yes thats what I was thinking, very nice piece. The end focal point is covered and stops the eye at the rocks where it should actually flow to the substrate.

The flow on your scape is from top left to bottom right.

Haha ja sorry for being pedantic but I'm feeling artsie fartsie today.

Forgot to ask. Is your vallis putting out runners yet?

Theres some nice reading on what Amano wanted to achieve with his scapes. He followed the japanese principal creating a nutural flow in his work and live.

Thats why his scapes was so pleasing to the eye as it follows the natural movement of ones eye when looking at things.

It also relaxes you on a subconcious level if the flow is right and this being the tranquility effect I thought I could help out.

Cool when they start going its on. Post a pic even if you dont keep it like that. I just want to compare the two.

I tried lifting the left hand piece in my oscar tank with the gravel in the tank but its not enough will have to go get some more. Or find a similar piece but with an upright branch.

So I removed all my rocks on the right side of the tank. To see what it looks like. Really looking sweet. The flow of the scape flows smoothly now from left to right. Will post pics after water starts clearing after I did my wc. Hopefully later tonight.

So what does everyone think about the new scape. The layout is more open on the right side. Like the new openness.

I like it. Goes from busy to calm. The amano thing works. Its a smooth view now. The busy left corner pulls your attention first then it just flows smoothly to the front right into calmness.

Maybe a nice amazon sword towards the back on that corner where you took the rocks out?

I like it too, that empty space where the rocks used to be works as it is in the pic, but I'll wait for tonight's pic to see what it looks like with the Hornwort, but it really looks great...

I will also see what it looks like when lights are on. Looked nice when I moved it this morning. I planted it on the backside of the wood just behind the anubias.

@hviviers75 nice. The bad part about amanos technique is that when you know about it you start seeing it in everywhere in everyday life.

Like how your desk is orginized and so forth haha.
