    I Have an spear 1.2 meter tanks +- 250 liters, with an external filter of about 50 liters. Do you guys have any suggestion on what i can but in there. I am looking for a fish that i can breed with in some time as an challenge. If all else fails i will be looking to lake Tanganyika cichlids.

    @Lowflyer7 . Sounds like a plan. Now i must just look where i can find them. I had a few a long time back and was always an interesting fish.
    I have a few tanks that will open up soon, so i am looking to get a few new fish and to get more discus.

    @Reedfish . Correct, they are free swimming now and taking food (what a relief) also the dad is still protecting the nest even with all the fry out of the thereo_O. They are extremely difficult to spot due to the camouflage and the sand but every now and then you see one making a dart for it. As far as i can tell, the parents are pretty cool with them now and not even chasing them anymore so it is looking good. I am very exited at the first batch was not a huge success, this time things are looking up.

    It sometimes takes one or more attempts before the parents get it right.
    Keep us updated with how these are doing

    @Bart

    The Tang in the photo above.
    The water conditions seem very similar (wood and plants) to the Discus tank
    Do you harden the water?

    @Reedfish. The tang above killed one of my female's so he is in exile in my community tank. Otherwise he will use up a tank that i can use. But yes the tds and water not what he would prefer. The tangs i have, it tooked a while to get the water correct Parameters for them.

    Just asked because they look young, it's nice to know the age. Then you can sort of predict when things are going to start happening on that cone.

    Did you have only the 1 female?
    If there are 3 or even 4, it distracts them and the male doesn't focus his aggression on the 1.
