if you want good filtration a small canister filter would work best. but not everybody are willing to pay the price of these filters. any way. if you stick to small fish and dont over feed you would be fine dont think the tank is big enough for bolivian rams any more

 

You could also just feed your fishes once a day.

A hungry fish is a healthy fish.

 

@Ryno - Urghh! There goes my bubble! Lol! Any suggestions as to what to replace them with? What is the name of that blueish fish that you bought a female for this week? Or will that be too big as well?

Any idea what type of apisto I will be able to keep or where I can actually find them?

 

@hviviers75 - will remember that. I still tend to want to feed them when they start performing for attention / food!

Bubbles

Hallo!

There seems to be a lot of bubbles against the side of the tank. I haven't experienced "bubbles" in the 30 liter, but the Betta tank that I set up last night is displaying the same bubbles.

I don't know if it's something I should be worried about.



Could it be the Hygrophila coryombrosa 'angustifolia' giving off oxygen or something? It's the only common link between the two tanks.

How long should I let the tank run before adding some livestock? What would you suggest I start with?

 

get microbelift special blend. i dont believe in fishless cycling never have. but thats just me. use the special blend accordingly and add fish next weekend if you want

If I want to cycle it with fish, how do I go about? What fish would be the best to cycle with and do I add them today?

I've been running the filter since yesterday, it's 800 liters per hour and I filled it with 400ml seachem matrix. Will that do?

I've also added Seachem Excel for the plants and that's about that.
