mine is currently set on 24 always set it a bit lower in winter months also saves electricity all I do currently with wc 1.) put water in my bin throw in some Seachem prime and then I leave my bin outside during the day and then at night when I get home temps in bin are around 22-23 or outside temp and then I just do my wc might add little bit warm water to try and get accurate water temps for wc never wanter to take a risk always try and have my temps in wc bin the same as my tank. I currently do 30 liters every other day as I only have my new tank for the last 3 1/2 weeks will do bigger water changes eventually do 25% weekly currently doing about just over 12% every 4th day or so. I also noticed with this wc method of mine that it is better for fishes by only changing a little bit of water every other day. Less stress on water params etc.

All my tanks apart from the displaytank are open-topped.
I have a fan running to assist with evaporation, and cooling.

Best method in summer is to have your internal filter or canister filters spray bar point upwards to your surface so it breaks the surface this helps with adding oxygen and also controlling heat in the tank.
I will probably remove my glass sliders if needed as it will be the first summer I experience with my new tank since in our new place.

I have my outlets like that yes. Unfortunately the fish I keep are jumpers and needs a solid lid. I got this huge fan I'm going to try this year, creating airflow around the tank should make it act like a giant heat sink. Hope it works.

I am thinking of installing small computer cooling fans on the back of my display tank canopy, blowing over the surface of the water.
The spray bar causes a rippling effect on the water, without breaking the surface of the water, as the tank has CO2, and I don't want to cause too much surface disturbance as that can remove the CO2 from the water.

Good idea @Pezulu many guys have done this and works very well. Yes if you have co2 in your tank that is not the best thing to do :)
