This was back in 2002 when i knew close to nothing about tropical fish. Its a 120L tank, put guppies in it, few plants. knew they needed feeding, and we got this.

Unfortunatly I dont have pictures to show but quite a funny story you will enjoy:

When I got my first tank, I envisioned the most awesome underground scene. Beautiful rocks with stunning white sand and EPIC fish that i could afford. So I ran to the pet store, bought my fish (5 goldfish) and my white beach sand. The sand was R5 per bag, so I bought two seeing as my tank wasnt that big.

At home i immediately filled the tank with water, set up the filter and dropped the fish in. I decided to pour the sand in afterward so I could get that natural riverbed look, you know! First packet, cut open, turn upside, pour it all in:

Wait.......why is the sand dissolving...this water looks like acidic.... I put my fingertip into the water....tasted it....UURGH!!! SAALLLLTT!!
And then the enivitable happened, one by one, my fished flipped upside-down and floated to the top.

That was the end of my first tank
