Went camping north of Pretoria, in a heatwave nonetheless, in a game reserve and while walking around I saw the best wood hard scape you cannot believe. I was just itching to bring some home, but alas not allowed to. Don't these guys know what potential there is in the wood just rotting away?

.. I know right, I'm lucky that My boss has a game farm and we often have to go drop feed or do odd jobs there, I always keep my eyes peeled for something even if I don't have a project in mind

So here something mildly interesting, Iv been in the habit of throwing overflow plants/moss in my worm farm for awhile because it’s good for them and the whole waiting for people to collect freebies 9,9/10 times doesn’t work because of my hours at work. This stuff was throw in the bins two or more weeks ago I didn’t turn it in like I usually do and much to my amazement the mosses incl Süsswassertang have carried on growing. The baby tears, dwarf sag and rotala also seem rather happy without the light.

It’s not a 5D photo but to my surprise my office black water/ semi deep leaf litter bed tank has fry! From a amazing batch of apistos I got from Chandz there must be roughly 40 odd but didn’t manage to get them in shot.
Chances are only a handful will make it but I suppose I need to bring some of my live cultures from home now….

Yup, not long.

But now travel has the added stress of covid.
I would like to self isolate for the next few weeks

I have successfully introduced Monte carlo, a hygrophila into tissue culture! Got lots of others I am waiting to see growth on, others like Anubias pinto and Buce wavy green just refuse to stay clean (even in anti-microbial media!). The jars are not photography condusive but will take pics when I repot!
