So by the end of the day we can move this cabinet back. But in the interim going to use the opportunity to try and sort out the crows nest of cables.

Will buy 2 of those multi plugs that can be screwed on and attach them to the back of the cabinet, one for each tank. Then I suppose one would have to leave a large enough gap between the cabinet and the wall to unplug filter cables when needed?

I also moved both tanks forward to the front edge of the cabinet to give more space to the canister, it’s running much better now.

What about those multi plugs with switches on each plug. Also looks like enough room to fix them to the top of the cabint.

I just bought 2 of these. They don’t have the individual switches but have surge protection and looked solid? Max load 3,680W. What do you think?

Make sure you subscribe online to that warranty. I still have the same ones but lost a TV recently to load shedding. Unfortunately my warranty was expired, but just as a back up...

I don't know if the internals, and ratings are the same as the UK
    But I use something similar

Had a new TV and speaker system set up blown by lightning. Ellie's covered it to the tee.

I wouldn't use anything but Ellie's In SA for this Reason.

So we cut away a square at the back of the cabinet and secured the multiplug on the inside (for the 65L). Busy doing the same in the other door for the QT.

Wow, its been a while since if posted on here. Which has me feeling incredibly out of the loop but I have been checking the threads that I try keep up with on a somewhat regular basis.
The whole point of this comment is to highlight my own mistake/neglect that can hopefully make a few of you breathe a sigh of relief to some extent.
With starting a new job that requires me to be at the factory 60-70hrs a week my tanks have not been the top of my priority list unfortunately this coupled with renovations/repairs that seem to be taking a hundred times longer than it should I had to move the tanks from their positions to one small tank island which threw the timers out and I disconnected the C02 from the higher tech tank and been running the tanks on a skeleton of what it used to have assistance wise.
while trying to keep my weekly water changes as regular as possible I stumbled across something rather shocking last night at around 23:00 odd when I had the time to do some water changes. My "low tech" tank was running at 20,4 the heater was completely unplugged and had been off for potentially a week odd since the last water change or way longer but its more than likely only been a week but this was through a cold snap. the reason this is so interesting to me is the inhabitants of the tank which include maybe 200 odd neos, a very happy and fat school of 20 odd white clouds a handful of threadfin rainbows, khulis and cories have all been behaving from what I have seen to be fairly normal and the shrimp carry on to breed like crazy.
In the higher tech tank where the temp should not fluctuate more than .5 of a degree because of the cooling system and heaters dialed in relationship since I removed the C02 everything shrimp wise has been happy as a pig in mud everything from the amanos, RCS/Golden bees and blue dreams are berried and breeding happily my nano fish are looking even brighter than they looked a month or two ago.

Basically the long and the short of it is maybe a slightly more relaxed approach can lead to some success too considering this is a natural setup compared to my or your own super hands on tank management. Maybe just breathe and relax a little if your tanks where causing you any anxiety/stress and approach it a tad slower with a splash of calmness if that wasn't there before because mines been a little bit manic for the last while.

I once forgot to plug in my heater and my tank ran at 16° for like 2-3 days my neons Cody’s shrimp and even my betta all seemed to “function normally” I think nowadays people stress to much about parameters and they don’t realise in nature nothing is ever constant

I think that, as with tank size, larger bodies of water are relatively more stable than smaller ones

Got a 1,5 m in dining room where the ambient temp never drops below 15 at night, winter time. The water with a 300w heater set at 24 keeps the water at 22. Everything is normal, fish are happy and I just check from time to time on water temp. So RELAX is the main word.

Current temps between 19 and 22 atm depending on time of day. Have not lost any fish, in fact angels seems happy and want to spawn on a regular basis.

Received a plant as a gift from a friend. The label just says 'kalanchoe' and neither of us have ever cared for a house plant or know anything about keeping them. It is indeed beautiful

    Anyone can assist?
