Was really sad to see today that large sections of the stream next to my childhood home has been completely overtaken by duckweed

I built a guinea pig enclosure this weekend and now am the owner of 2 of them. My boys love them. They are so excited

I think that is a good idea. They still need to get used to us and their new environment but they are not afraid of being held and petted.

Got my fry tank up and running yesterday it's 60 X 50 X 50 which is way too huge for them. Now I'm confused what else to use the tank for instead. And today I received this list of new shipment of fish arrived and ready for sale...

    What do I do? Hahaha

I attached the list for reference

Back home and so relieved that the fish and tanks are doing really well

Our mate who house sat had a couple of tanks many moons ago, also talked him through it, left video clips, post its, measured lean daily food in those medicine containers thingies etc. Hedwig got hand fed, the whole drill.

He said it was therapeutic which is great. He did topups but I made sure the filters were clean and wc were done. Sure it needs trimming and the odd algae spot treatment here and there, but sho... very grateful!!

I leave tomorrow. And my house help is in this position . I've set up auto feeder for the main tank. She's just going to have to feed the fry tank.

    Fingers crossed

Pleased to hear everything is ok.

This is one issue that has stopped me going for a marine setup.
I travel a bit for work and was not keen on leaving my tank in inexperienced hands.
The Discus and Rays was stressful enough as it is

Yesterday I received my Jan 21 issue of PFK
An interesting article on someone who has set up a huge Lake Tanganyika tank.
And also a few other bits and pieces of interest.

PFK is cool. I'm waiting for the May/June article of Amazonas, I have an article there as part of an ancient fish feature. The bichir handbook is also out, waiting on that to come with some UK friends :D

Just bought one of those Zetlight ZA1200s for my 2ft as well. Debating whether I paint the cable white or cover it in white insulation tape
Other than that detail it seems like a good product.

look at the positive, at least you can still go for a walk at the stream. Area i grew up in you have got to be very brave to go for a walk around the stream. best to leave cellphone and wallet at home

Yeah don’t look at all the cables on the pic :) had to move the 65L to the right to make space for the “QT” and it needs a top up and a trim!
Wish I had another Aqua for this tank, would just look more uniform etc. Perhaps I’ll be cheeky and put it on my birthday wish list
