My mother messaged me on Saturday to say she is positive. Sunday I called and my dad felt really weak. They live in PE and no other family around. So I decided to take the trip to see if I could assist. The city looked desperate for help, long queues at Dischem, Clicks all for similar medications, cures for Covid-19. I decided on Wednesday to risk the trip to Cpt, get folks into isolation guesthouse and myself into isolation at home.

Really struggling logistically still but atleast they're close and we can assist in any possible way.

My dad still weak and sure he will pull through, positive attitude suppose the best conqueror...

The attached pics is highly recommended and hope it helps someone.

Thanks @A new day. Only realized those images are so badly cropped. If anyone needs feel free to pm me. Nebulizer with hydrogen peroxide seems like the main...

You won't believe all the remedies we have heard about.

    Thanks @MariaS !
It took us 6 hours to get from OT Tambo to our destination close to hazyview yesterday. Roadworks, detours, heavy traffic and an accident (not involving us) arrived at 21h30
But lovely to be here

You're welcome mate. I totally understand the feeling of someone close to you being positive and there's nothing you can do. Worst part is me being an 8hour flight away during a shutdown between both countries, but hey positive thoughts can do wonders in a time like this. Really touched by your efforts made for your parents.

So jealous that you are near Kruger :D

On a trip from Jhb to Malelane a few years ago, we got held up by a massive accident on the N4.
Had to do a 100km diversion which with the stop on the motorway added another 2 1/2 hours to the journey. Not such fun for the kids

You’re right it was a looong day of traveling all the way from CT. We were advised by the airline to be there 2 hours before departure to do all the health checks etc but was totally unnecessary in the end. CT airport was pretty much a ghost town but the flight was full. Then delay in getting the rental car, followed by the 6h trip
