Hendre. How about a book on South African freshwater plants. There nowhere something like it or Google is stupid.

I built a mobile app over the span of two years with a colleague, to help people with social conflict resolution. The application was finished last week and we have two Investors on board as well as a social media influencer.

very excited to help people, you guys should check it out. www.argumend.co

The company I work for restructured. While I am still employed by them my workload has increased significantly

@TheGrissom did this come with a promotion or is it cost cutting measures as a spinoff of lockdown?

Cost cutting. Nothing to do with lock down as the company has not suffered in any way and in fact has probably benefited. Comes with a demotion and a 25 % salary decrease. I am not a happy camper

That does suck and im sorry to hear
I know of a few people that companies have retrenched, work load for the remainng staff increases considerably and their salaries are still less 25%
This has really hit a lot of people quite hard

Just the way it was done was quite unethical in my opinion. In April everyone was essential staff, in June retrenchments with those remaining taking salary cuts and increased work load. Nothing that I can do about it though. The company may save money but they have lost staff loyalty.

Massive storm here last night resulting in damaged power cables in the neighborhood and resulting power outages. Trees got blown over blocking the road. Our trampoline got airlifted over the (rather high) boundary wall and crashed onto a car parked across the road. I kid you not.

Having a rather hellish day trying to keep fish alive, thank goodness no losses thus far. Power has been out since 2am though. Heating the rooms, wrapping towels and blankets around the tanks. Intermittent air stones wit USPs.

Hubby brought 2 massive batteries from the office for me to run filters and heaters a bit. Lasted less than an hour and we’re out of moves basically, not knowing when the power lines would be fixed. Apparatus damage to many, so probably a backlog.

Had to move the fish from QT and 44L across to the 65L just now.

In between all of this the son decided to ‘prune’ my pico / wabi kusas “to help it grow better” (was bound to happen at some point, let’s face it).

So now the question is, how long do you reckon the fish would suvive without filter, air exchange and heater? The jungle tank is particularly vulnerable to temp drops...

The hubby asked me to post this question and get feedback. If the fish won’t survive the night (which I suspect) well buy a generator probably but it’s a big expense.

    Thanks in advance... :(

I’ll start a thread for this question as it’s kind of an emergency

Got robbed at gunpoint yesterday. They stole my phone but thankfully the wife and kiddo were not with me. Fear this will get even worse as the economy slips into ruin

Wow, hectic - glad you are unharmed. I think it will just push more and more people to emigrate.

Hectic. Sorry to hear that but glad you are okay.

Agreed. Once lock down lifts eventually we will be staring at the ruins of our economy. Just not sure there is anywhere to go as all economies worldwide are taking a hit. Safety will be a major concern
