Dankie Oom Tom vir die liedjie.

RFS you are quite right the next worst thing after sand is clay...

However, my recommendation still remains the same if the trees are in bark and potting soil because all of what applies for sand also applies for this mix.

For a clay soil, you need to add organic compost and to work it into the soil and it will take some years before the soil structure really improves. Something like mushroom compost works for clay.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

    Baie dankie weereens!

The bigger tree is now healthy and very very very happy, unfortunately it was to late for the younger tree. We will be replacing it with a naartjie tree tho.

@Wyvren,did you follow Prof Dirk's advice to the letter?I've got a tree that looks a bit sad,it's got allot of fruit at the moment but the leaves, old and new growth,is pale.

Yep we are following his regimen to the letter. The tree is now very happy and bearing so much fruit we are giving it away.

@Rudi, I will have to check for you tomorrow. Will let you know. I think she just asked for the NPK and took the one that gave her in the correct ratio

@Wyvren; @Noodle - I was given the same "skrik" advice by my organic nursery except they suggested I just kick the tree
