Hope you get some fry from yours.
I have a plain blue like yours, and also a blue diamond which has very shiny scales.

I also have a few smokey blue leopards which have a lot of blue in them too.

@Reedfish maybe one day I will regret but until now nothing happened. They seemed to have grown up together without any problem. There are actually 3 more larger angels in this tank.
@Vis thanks would have loved to have some of prof Dirk ones....

Equinoxe, I really like your angels. Seems they have a nice home too.
@Reedfish, some say that if you raise your angels and cardinals together since they were small, the angels won't eat then.

I am not so sure about that theory.
About a year ago a friend of mine introduced 1 young Angel into a tank with about 10 Neons
Today there is still 1 Angel. But no Neons.

Until they realise they can eat them, and the glassbloodfins, and the neons, and the rummy noses... :)

    Hey Guys,

easy now, angels are not necessarily the monsters that you make them out to be. If you have large angels and introduce new small tetras, you are asking for trouble, but if you have larger and older tetras in a well established tank and then introduce small to medium angels then you should not have a problem. What you must realize though is that angels need to be fed properly and if you do not then they will go after smaller fishes including tetras, so a lot of this has to do with feeding as well.

But the bottom line is that you cannot make a categorical statement that angels and tetras cannot be combined, I have seen and managed to do this myself. A large shoal of larger cardinals with a few angels looks absolutely stunning.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

    Ivan,
I like the dark colouring on the top of your fish. I have one where that spreads down 2/3 of the body.

    Still, very nice angels.

I went past Looliloks today. I was very impressed by some of the angels there. Those Peruvian angels are very nice too! I am debating whether to have them in the cube or rams... I am leaning more towards the rams because I want a big school of small fish which the angels might enjoy snacking on.

    Hi Vis,

Are these the fishes from Loolitude which were sold as peruvians? If that is the case then they are pretty typical Pterophyllum scalare type angels. One must remember that the angels that were the first to get into domestication were from Bogota in Colombia and from Letitia in Peru from where they were transported by air to the USA. From there they were distributed all over the world. We tend to think that the P scalare angels that are in the trade are from the Amazon and would most likely have been exported from Manaus, but I have found that this is not the case really, most domestic angels actually have their origins in Peru or Colombia in any case. So what is happening at the moment is that we are getting new stock in from Peru and Colombia and the genes that these contribute are actually adding "fresh" genes to our angels. However, our domestic angels are actually not so different to the fishes that are now being imported.

May I ask what you paid for these fishes? Why I ask is because I have about 150 of my angels that are basically identical to those that you show except that their fins are much better which are looking for a good home.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

    Hey Prof...

I do not think that these are the same Angels that I saw today at Looliloks. I am almost certain of that. The ones I saw today had small beaks similar to the Altums. And the Longer than normal fins. I was going to take some pics of them, but I forgot my phone in the car and I was too Lazy to go back and fetch it. I will go back there at some point in the next couple of weeks, and I will take some pics of their angels. They are very nice fish.

I am sure that you will now be bombarded with about 300 PM's and emails now that you have announced that you have angels for sale!

    Regards

    Sean
