This is awesome!!!! That tank is huge. It probably has more than one time zone.

    @ Oscar freak... Thanks

@Perry.. thanks so much, I got the Hybrids from Mo and they are Black diamond cross Marble and you are welcome...

@Reedfish.... I have to be honest, I find the Hybrids and a lot nicer than the normal Motoros...
I have a total of 8. to answer the next question lol I will be building another large tank some time this year of 4m x 1.3m x 800.... aim will be to keep Bds in one tank alone and the rest in the new tank..

The standard motoros aren't that attractive, I do agree.
The lfs I was at on Monday has a pair of youngsters. He's had them for a while but he hasn't been able to sell them. Offered them to me at quite a discount. My tank isn't big enough so I had an excuse

@Reedfish... The amazing thing is that although the standard motoros aren't that attractive, they produce some stunning babies when crossed with marble or mantila or even bd's

They also appear to pass on the hardy characteristics of the motoro to the pups.
I have to admit that as an ex breeder myself, I have always been dead against mixing species however with the rays the results have been good, no funny throwbacks and some amazing paterns.

Overseas they are very popular due to the exquisite paterns

I would love some hybrids. @Cesar what are they going for these days, for BD cross Motoro? I got myself a motoro pup and what looks like a hybrid or marbled motoro about 2 weeks ago. They are both still quite small so lets see in a few months if anyone can identify him

@Perry... its awesome news that you took the step and got yourself some rays (welcome to the crazy bunch lol)
as Reedfish has said, post some pics and start a growout thread.. the one thing to remember with Hybrids is that sometimes its very difficult to determine the different strains in them unless you order them direct and you ask for a
specific mix (so to say)... you might find that only once they are adults do you see what they could be. you are going to enjoy them as one thing about Hybrids is they are allways changing...

@Reedfish... how are you Rays doing ? i find it so amazing how the rays are that one type of fish that you want more and more...

@Reedfish...that's awesome, how old are they now? have you seen any signs of the males clasps starting develop...
That's the problem I have, every time there is a shipment of rays I land up with pics and it gets very tempting...
They are stunning rays, people have no idea by looking at pics how amazing they really are....

    @Cesar

I have had them for a year and 2 months.
They were "teenagers" I guess when I got them.

    The male has rolled claspers
Does that mean he is fully grown?

@Reedfidh.... well they say once the male develops his rolled claspers then he is mature.. not to say fully grown as they keep growing just a little slower....
just curious as one when mine got to a year that's when he mated the female....

The male often "mantles" over the female. But I think it's more a dominance thing.
