Showed my mom this thread, and she really liked the last one with the road and the trees.
@DoubleDutch she's now asking for your permission to use it to paint. Would you be ok with that?

    I'll definitely do that.
Only I'm not sure when she's planning to start seeing as she is still working but she mentioned wanting to start painting again soon

@DoubleDutch I saw a hideous TV insert that showed the main Alsmeer flower market, the workers were just dumping thousands and thousands of buckets of cut flowers - no market for them. they were just emptying the buckets on to the ground and a JCB tractor just loading them in to skips for removal to rubbish dumps. I was SO shocked to see all those magnificent flowers going to waste - those poor cut flower farmers must be losing millions and millions of Euro's - a very horrible time in the world for ALL of us I guess. BLOODY Covid19 - it is a curse!!!!!!

Very true. Export is almost zero.
The market asked to stop bringing in new flowers and plants, so the problem is with the growers now. Some of them give their flowers away for free. I assume they will be compensated by the government.

Vegetables and fruits, cause those are in the foodchain (and needed all over the world) will be a smaller problem.

Holland is third in line of agariculture products. That's great but when something like this happens we're struck quite hard.

    Nothing "special" today.
    First warm day. 20C.
Still social distancing which seems to work (less hospitalization and less to IC today).
The potatoes (Piepers in local slang) are planted this week. Irrigation with a watercanon. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Ahhhh @DoubleDutch ... Cant wait to see those fields in full bloom again!!

Every time you post all these stunning pictures, i am amazed at the beauty of the Dutch countryside... its unreal..

We finally saw the sun yesterday after a weeks rain almost non stop!!
But... the weather has changed... we can feel winter is around the corner
Was sunny today but the wind had a chill to it and temperatures in our area for tonight are 7 degrees...

As always I hate you for staying in such a beautiful area. Stunning pictures again. Very sad about the flowers. That sucks.

Good to hear you say hot day 20°. Anything under 25° I see as cold. Had 1 1/2 day of sunshine but clowds are back again today. Autumn/winter sucks

First pics : Ducklings in the ditch
In the last two swan-pics the property on the far left was my granddad's. A big part of my childhood I spend on the farm.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

We actually don't have a full lockdown Pierré but an intelligent lockdown as it's called (How intelligent has to be seen).

Our government is pretty sure we can't really stop the virus, but wants to prevent the healtcare to be overasked. So we're asked to stay at home as much as possible, always stay 1,5 metres apart (social distancing) or even better walk and sport alone.
Not to visit elder people or other people with a higher risk. Etc etc.....

To be honest the explanation makes pretty much sense to me so far. We have a high standard healthcare that functions greatly untill the monent it is overasked. So if we van lower the curve of infections it should be able to cope. That's what happening right now. The Brits declared us for fools / taking a big risk, but I am pretty sure that's cause of they don't understand. They were the last to take things seriously so ?????????? But okay.

Every Dutchman is insured, so there is not a debate who to treat or who not to treat. Anyone is given the same healthcare.

Working alone and living apart from my wife in an aerea that isn't overcrowded (as a city) makes thing for me a bit easier.

Two days ago I had a first walk with my daughter and granddaughter since three weeks. though. 1,5 metres apart but it was great to see both again.

The new(born) life (my granddaughter, ducklings, lambs, calves) make me happy hahaha and forget all the issues we're facing.

Realising you guys are facing different challenges simply cause your country is bigger, differently organised, a bigger population, etc etc...

Hoping you all will stay healthy and trying to bring "our outside" to "your inside" by placing pics.

    Stay safe guys and girls.

    Bird Edition.
Special thanks to my big friend Paul from the UK, who is daily sharing Bird pics for his family and friends in Lockdown.
I got his permission to share those with you.

Some of the birds are seen in Holland as well, some aren't. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
