I will be quite honest and say this without any of my normal jokes, but if there is to be some or other merger of TASA with MASA without any consultation with members, then you may just find that I will disappear. Why I say this is because the merger by whoever it was with APSA meant a hijack of APSA, was a total disaster leading to a complete change of how the forum was moderated and my complete withdrawal. So if there is anything that the owners of this forum want to jump on us similar to this, they had better clarify what is planned or else you might that TASA may disintegrate. I find this uncertainty and speculation very bad for the forum and I want to express my concern about this. It is all fine that we make jokes about what is going to happen, but if something as I have outlined is planned then I see major problems ahead. I would appreciate it if this uncertainty was brought to an end because it does not bode well as far as I am concerned.

I don't see the two forums merging, it would be chaos. I think each forum already has its own type of culture and understanding of member mentality. My honest opinion is some new sponsor( Rather big to cover both forums).

Or some exhibition of some kind.

 

P.S I still like the new APSA.

I'd be impressed if this is a 12'th graders home work assignment ... using simple marketing to establish hype in an online community.

 

I agree 100% with you on that one Dirk. I know some members have apparently signed a NDA with Rory to keep shut... not that I believe it to be honest... I know of a "newish" sponsor who is in the process of signing up... but if that is the big news.. then all this hype will definitely end anti-climactic! (Don't get me wrong... this will be a great sponsor, and will put TASA on the international map...)

Joining the two forums will not happen. MASA membership don't want to join the lighter side of life, and TASA membership definitely do not want to join the dark side. I can, with 99% confidence, catagorically state that MASA and TASA will not merge. (Also, there is too much competition between the two forum's administrators for them to now join... Sorry for the dig @Rory and @Zebra Pleco.)

What I can state... whatever "is coming" has to be even bigger than the new blacklist, because the hype about whatever is coming leads the members to anticipate something really good. You know when your friends all tell you that a movie is absolutely stunning, and you build yourself up to see this amazing movie... and it turns out to be a real let down (even though the movie was relatively good). Same principle applies here... whatever is coming has to be really amazing.

 

I thought so originally... but no. We can rule this one out.
