Really? What type and how much?
It's likely that if you ask about the legality they'll plead ignorance or say they came in accidentally with another shipment. I've heard of it happening to shops that import their own stock.

Dont know what type , think the price was either R4.90 or 14.90 each.
Top row of tanks at the back , next to the door that goes to the staff entrance.
Had baby fish in the tank with them , was about 20 shrimps in the tank.

Hehe, I have no idea where Bothasig is, so I was just interested to find out if it's a sign of things to come:)

Those prices don't seem too unreasonable though, considering how readily the ordinary freshwater shrimp breed.

I dont even know where ysterplaat is. Btw, isnt that the same shop who had stock a time back in a different thread? With that marine backdrop? Anyway. I hope the prices settle around 5rand or so. thats the same as the cheap fish, neons, glowlights, minnows etc

So RuanM, can you tell us what sort of shrimp they were? I'm guessing they were just standard Red Cherries...

Guys dont bother, they have plenty shrimp, but they are colourless! Nothing to look at really and not worth the R14,50ea. They used to have red Cherry shrimp. I got some beautiful ramirezi from them tho @R34.50ea

Colourless could mean they're indigenous or they're Red Cherry males that aren't very happy.

Ja, that could be any number of things, but most likely indigenous and wild caught if they've got constant stock.
