The fish are doing okay. Not sure if they're looking any better or not but definitely are still eating and being active.

Lost 2 loaches today so I'm guessing that they are not coping with the meds or they are also affected by the sickness. Hillsream loach seems unaffected by anything

 

If you go with the salt treatment, the author didn't mention it must be iodine free.

 

Thank you for this. The absence of red ulcers means is probably ich and I'm over thinking again.

My usual salt of choice is rock salt as it's pure with no additives.

I've inspected the fish earlier this evening and the worst affected is seemingly better. Spots have started disappearing from the Gill area and just left on fins. Some of the fish actually seem to be free of spots but all definitely did have them.

 

Ich has a life cycle so consider this when treating...

 

Had to treat a quarantine tank today for ich. Came in on some emerald green tiger barbs, that came together with tiger hillstream loaches. There was a resident electric blue Acara in this tank that was most affected. The hillstream showed no signs of any spots. Treated at about 2pm, just checked them now and the Acara is almost completely clear of all spots. I used seachem polyguard, probably 1/4 dose. No temperature adjustment.

 

These hillstreams seem quite hardy then hey. Mine was totally unaffected too. My tanks also almost completely cleared out now. Thank God. What I found helpful was squirting the meds in the water when I fed a small amount so all the fish gathered In the same area and they literally was in the blue cloud the meds made. I will continue dosing the tank with a 1 third doseage for one more week just in case
