After only 4 days in their spawning tank I removed the 2 Kutubus. Reason for this is I'm back to day old fry. Spotted about 10 of them when removing the parents. Gave them a good helping of micro worms to get them going.fe040bb39a9c6ce570cd0b6cdb879096.jpg

Like I said the breeding part is easy. I just need to open the curtains, of the fish room, and this guy is ready to spawn.

Do you have a potential market for them? Nothing worse that getting stuck with an overstocked tank and being unable to get rid of the fish. I have a friend who spawned about 100 rams - started selling them but eventually he was trying to give them away and still couldnt get rid of all of them.

I do have a place that will take everything I breed. Made sure of this before I started cause I know about a lot of people that end up with tanks full of fish and nobody wNts them

Won't call myself organised. Try to stick to something that works at the moment. Tend to loose interest when stuff stagnate.

I'm very happy this morning. Have my first Boesemani fry swimming around.

Hopefully I will be picking up some M australis today. If they did get females that is.

Quick update. The origanal Kutubu todlers is doing great. Both new Kutubu and Boesemani fry is still surviving. Havn't moved any of the fry from the spawning/hatching tanks. They receive the same food every feeding as well as wc on the same days. They should be more than fine in there for the next 3 months before they will move over to the 2ft tank, currently occupied by the todlers. Although all of this might change depending on the numbers of fry I get.

A very interesting observation I have seen over the past few days with the new fry. Kutubu fry are much darker, almost black, compared to the Boesemani fry which is more a translusent/silver color when looking from the top down at them. Kutubu fry only swim in the top 1/4 of the tank but mostly the top 2cm. Boesemani fry uses the top 1/2 of the tank.

Very interesting to have 2 different batches of 2 different Rainbows spesies that have hatched a day appart. Will be very interesting, for me at least, to be able to compare the growth rate of these guys over the next 6 months.
