I have seen with my cpd fry they all congregate in the top 1/3 of the tank. With the sawbwa fry they all stay in the moss and dont move around as much. Guess different species just have different survival mechanisms

Guess survival and food supply will be their natural instinct.

    A little update.

Todlers are doing great and coloring up nicely at the moment. Feeding them frozen daphnia and fish eggs, ON Community pellits which they still don't like much and a new food Dr. Bassleer biofish food pellets which they love.

Both batches of new fry is looking good and I havn't noticed any reduction in fry numbers. Havn't tried counting them just yet, better for me not to have a number from which I will have to deduct as time passes. Feeding them crushed pellets, finally got a pestle and mortar which makes is much easier, and micro worms. Still doing wc every 2nd day.

Looking forward to how the newest batches turn out, now that you have sorted out their food and feeding.

Thanks. Defnitly helps to have live food from the start and I think the wc also makes a defferance.

Thanks. That is the nice part of rainbows. They keep on transforming the older they get and it is always for the better.

Thanks. Not breeding new batches as they are currently in the breeding tanks. Think about only breeding every 3 months with them. Already running around with keeping enough microworms going for all the hungry mouths. I also don't want to swamp myself into more than what I can handle at the moment as work, unfortunately, takes up most of my week.

I also find this. Trying to have too many tanks with fry simultaneously ends up a disaster when microworms run out and the fry are still too small to take anything else.

Very true. And I only have a set amount of tanks running so space might become a problem at some stage.

SLAs will have to be discussed and agreed upon!
I think you can set loss rate at 10% max. above that you kill you buy!
