Question regarding Seachem Safe.

My logic tells me it's unnecessary to treat the whole tank seeing that the product will be dispersed evenly into the system via filtration. Maybe just a ploy to get us to use more safe?

 

I have been using prime and safe for a long time and the only difference is, prime has slime coat in that safe hasn't got.

 

Hi guys. So I got my answer from seachem. @johancotze please see response bellow. Now I can confidently say the for me prime is a better more complete product. I have got nothing against safe. Guys you make up your mind.

Dash here from South Africa. I am having a very interesting discussion on a local forum about prime vs safe. My opinion is that prime is an overall better product due to it being liquid; it is able to remove heavy metals and provide assistants to fish in producing a layer of slime
Others on my local forum seem to feel that safe is firstly cheaper and will do every thing that prime does. I was even told that if you add water to safe you now get prime!

I am not disputing how good safe is all I am saying is that prime will do more for water then safe. Seachem can you please assist us in settling this matter?

Safe is the dry version of Prime, except, that it does not detoxify heavy metals, nor will it stimulate the natural slime coat of the fish. Unfortunately, due to its dry state, those benefits can not be achieved.

Safe cannot be made into Prime, as it does not have stabilizers like Prime and will not last long term in a liquid form. If diluted into a liquid, it must be used immediately. For references purposes:

100 mg Safe --> 40 L
1 mL Prime --> 40 L
