I did have some yes. I'll post a small update on my thread a little later. Otherwise I'll derail your thread. Haha thank you I'll send a courier. Think they count as essential

Born out of necessity to keep the plants alive during lockdown, it’s actually turned into an interesting no-filter no electric light no-heater experiment.

Almost 2 weeks since added soil substrate to the tub. So far so good. Lots of new growth, including on the swords and crypts. No algae whatsoever. A couple of ramshorns, pond and trumpet snails.

Did a 50% wc on day 2 but nothing since. Adding a couple of drops of Flourish Advance and Excel daily. Added a couple of drops of Stability daily in the first week.

How much light is it getting, and is the tub kept inside or outside? Everything in there is looking pretty healthy

Thanks yes I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s kept inside next to sliding doors where it gets some morning sun and plenty of ambient light

Yep after lockdown, goodness knows when that would be :(

After the soil spillage issue in the 44L I’m rethinking using capped Langa in the river tank. Especially with the very high flow... Think pure sand (pfs) will be a safer bet and easier to maintain. Perhaps I’ll just hide a teracotta pot with capped Langa for the aponogeton.

But have been building a Paw Patrol lookout tower this morning  nearly done

Feel sorry for you having to "patiently" wait for the tank.... when you could have had so much fun now!!

Thanks @MariaS but I’ve kind of blocked it out for now, else will drive me crazy :)
It is what it is, and out of my control. So no use getting worked up about it. Or that’s my coping mechanism

Why not leave the langa uncapped? You don't have to cap all aqua soils as far as I know.

Yep aquasoil doesn’t need to be capped but a hillstream/ river tank biotope typically has a sand or gravel substrate and little or no planting (in front anyway). I don’t mind doing pfs only, will be a low tech tank anyway.

I didn’t buy an enormous amount of Langa (2 bags) and will be able to use for other projects or perhaps sell the unopened bag. Who knows (hahaha I think I’m funny), might do a proper high tech setup in future. With carpet etc. Will come in handy.

Thanks now it makes more sense  can't wait to see the end results.

How about you send it on an all expenses paid trip to my door :lol: just kidding. But yeah who knows you might need a 6th tank soon

Yep, like a bakkie load

Langa is more affordable than Amazonia. I haven’t used it before but other forum members rate it. The plants i put in a container with Langa seem to be doing very well, so far so good.

I want to start a petition to ensure that @A new day does a high tech planted. As master of the planted tanks, it would only seem fitting.

I just see even better scape if you go high tech. With your skill the scape will be top class.

@A new day how much did you get the Langa for and how many liters?

What I can remember is that Langa is roughly half the price of ADA Amazonia. I have the price breakdown of the tank on my phone but I haven’t checked my phone since lockdown started and plan on keeping it that way
