    Hi all - to keep the sand white - use the Microbe-Lift gravel and substrate cleaner, works really well, just don't get frightened off by the colour of the product..

    I agree, it's one of the best substrates you can get. However, wash it WELL. As in give it several rounds of rinsing and then treat it with boiling water as well. There are lots and lots of nasties in beach sand.
