    Slagter,

As far as the dwarfs go, these look excellent, and are looking more and more like A. steindachneri according to my books. The male develops fin extensions at the top and the bottom of the tail fin and it looks like this may still happen.

As far as the future wife goes, DJ fresh had some good advice a few days ago. He had a lady phoning in to a computer company after she had married a few weeks before. She got the answering system. She said that Boyfriend 6.0 was no longer working and that Husband 1.1 was slow. She also complained that Flowers 3.0 and Jewellery 6.2 were also only working very slowly. Well the advice she got from the automatic reply service was that Husband 1.1 was an operating system whilst Boyfriend 6.0 was an entertainment program and that this was incompatible with Husband 1.1. Further advice was that she should try to run Loungerie 3.4 and Cooking 3.5 in order to speed up the performance of Flowers 3.0 and Jewellery 6.2. Another personal piece of advice that I can give you (I will be married for thirty years next year!) is that breeding dwarf cichlids is not does not work so well with Wife 1.0 and that the breeding priorities are asked to move elsewhere.....

We wish you a lovely wedding and much happiness for the future!

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

    HAHAHA!! Awesome story there Prof!!

And yes, there are plans for children in the near future... I'm hoping that I get all the fish and 4x4's and other toys before that happens though!!

Compromises will have to be made...... timing is what they call it...... you do not want to be going camping with your 4x4 with a 6-12 month old baby......... toys such as dolls and lego become much more important..... let me stop now!

    Sterkte boet!

Well, I thought I would update this thread a little... Not with pics yet, but I'll snap them soon...

I was watching them yesterday and on the weekend quite a bit. There is definitely 1 dominant male in the tank, a subdominant as well and 2 bright yellow females. I watched the male doing his little dance, then he would shoot into a coconut shell, move some gravel out, and then go dance in front of the female again!

So, I definitely have 1 pair of these beautiful fish which I am almost certain are A. steindachneri. The males have developed some beautiful light blue colours on their flanks and are doing well.

As yet, I have still only lost the 1 fish out of the original 8 I bought. If I do get a breeding pair, the other 5 fish will be up for sale. Any takers so long?
