Easy way to get rid of that oily film is to just drag some Carlton toweling over the surface...bit of PT,but gets rid of it super efficiently....

I used a net. And water flow also helps. Most of it was gone by this morning.

    Thanks man!

The water was quite clear this morning. Not 100%, but that will change in the next couple of days.

Ok... Got home, played with the family for a while, and then put the lighty to sleep... THEN, I installed the Co2. I have decided to use the Pollen Glass Beetle 30 ADA diffuser... Let me say one thing, I will NEVER use a cheap Ebay diffuser ever again. Seriously. This thing must save on Co2, because it is so efficient. It's awesome, and I'm not just saying that.

    Check:

And the tank so far. I need quite a lot of plants still... There is a lot of open ground here.

Yeah, as soon as the wood is completely soaked, I'll take it out. I think the rock might be a little big, but it's doing the job.

There are a few plants that I really want, like Pogostemon stellatus, Pogostemon helferi, Cyperus helferi, Ammania gracillis, Stuarogyne repens, Rotala wallichii and Ludwigia sp Cuba.

You can definitely come around to see... Not sure if I have plans for sunday. I need to check with the minister of home affairs. LOL!

    I disagree.... :p

Ditch that piece of wood that's making it look ugly and leave the rock in...

It's been running for a week-ish now, and it pearls like a soda stream machine! This light is insane. The Aquasoil is brilliant as well. Easy to plant in and it looks really natural. I'm really loving it. I will try and get a video off my phone and show you the pearling. neilh was kind enough to give me a few stems too. Got some Rotala colorata, and a stem of Staurogyne repens... So a little more real estate has been planted. Still quite a lot more open space.

I'm really considering removing the piece of wood... But then it wouldn't really be a nature aquarium... I need to refine my design of the scape once I have enough plant mass.
