Maybe remove them and plant in the corner on the right top ... should have light in that spot.

Then some anubias and moss around the base as a future plan.

Did a 50% water change on the tank this morning...things still going along slowly...I think maybe I need to do a water change more frequently as I am thinking with the smaller volume of water the plants are using up more of the elements in the water quicker?

Got a couple new fish for the tank today... 5x Galaxy Rasboras's and 3x Rosy Loaches. Interested to see how these settle in...some nice little mirco fish additions though. :)

Tried to take some pics but the fish were too skittish still.

Weird @f-fish this post never showed up when you posted it on my side...It showed you posted, but when I came into the thread my posts were the only ones showing. I was actually thinking of getting hold of a decent size Anubia and attaching it to the branch that sticking out of the water and letting it grow emersed with just the roots growing into the water itself...may make a nice feature.

Managed to get a couple of pics...not the best quality, but they will have to do.

The school of Galaxy Rasbora from above...hiding.

Two of the Rosy Loaches...the dont like the camera.

One of my Oto as I rarely get a shot of him. :)

I noticed by short fin Betta chase the newly introduced Rasbora's...is he seeing them as food or just being territorial? This made me think back to my tank at home with so many of mine dead over the weekend...figured heat, but what if its actually my Betta that has decided to take them out? :(

Took a couple more pictures of the tank this morning...now that the competition is over I added some hemianthus micranthemoides cuttings from my home tank and an Anubia to the main branch.

Thanks Broder...one thing that has amazed me is how much better the Cobra grass has grown in this tank than in my other tank. It never grew at all in that tank, but its grown to the point in this tank that I have been able to harvest and replant smaller sections of it around the tank.

But then the Brazilian Pennywort that does so well in my home tank grows nicely in this tank but it very pale...lighting conditions between the two tanks?

added a small brown crypt wendtii today which was getting overgrown by other plants in my main tank.

Also saw the single lonely Red cherry shrimp for the first time in ages. :p

Finally, I tried to adjust the colours of a FTS today as I can never seem to get a true reflection of the intricacies of the piece of spiderwood...came out a little better but still not that great. :/

I absolutely love this tank and the progress it has made ... Actually you are rather close to some of those inspirations in the initial post of the thread, with time can see it being achieved. The best part - it seems like you are going to continue with it ... that means the COMP really was a good must do starting point for you.

Keep it up - yeah some crypts might not be a bad thing at all.

Thanks Ferdie, some very encouraging words there! I am actually really loving this tank, my only regret is that I set it up at work and not at home as I am enjoying it more than my main tank at the moment...almost making me think of gutting and redoing the home setup. :D

Couple pics for the week ahead. :D

My red cherry shrimp is out in the front of the tank for a change...happy days! :p

Java Moss is starting to grow along the branches which is nice...hoping to have some fuzzy branches in the future. :)

Lastly some tank shots...no fish visible in the pics...after adding the Galaxy Rasboras from my home tank to this tank I figured it would coax the other fish to come out more when people are around...not the case...now they all just hide. :/

Thanks Derik! I use Instagram to crop and adjust my pics...I like the little borders they give you too :p

The moss is Java Moss...growing nicely in this tank so is the cobra grass and both looking good. My staurogyne Repens and Pennywort seem a little pale in colour though...not sure what the cause could be? :/

@Pieter Geldenhuys - Remember this is low tech setups. So none of the fancy stuff was used here.
so this shows us how easy it actually is to do a planted setup.

Wow thanks Pieter very kind words! :)

Yip, only piece of equipment on this tank is an aquaclear...so it isn't too bad...mind you one does need to invest in proper plant substrate, that in itself plays a large part.
