Looks fantastic with the new rocks. It's easier to do water changes on such a small tank to clear it of the tannins.

I hope so...I've got a vision in mind of how it should grow out over time...but whether this will happen or not I'm not sure...the tank being at work its not going to get the attention it would if it was at home so only time will tell. :)

Just a caution about the rocks lying on substrate... Over time anaerobic regions will develop beneath them, with the resultant toxic hydrogen sulphide gas.

Not much new to post on this...tank is going along at its own pace. My pennywort and java moss have had some nice growth since start up, but cobra grass and staurogyne repens growth is stagnant...staurogyne repens in my home tank has taken off at a fast pace...need to emulate those conditions here at work I think. :p

Got a little otocinclus yesterday to add to the tank to help with algae control. Really enjoy these little fish.

I tried to get a pic of the Strawberry Rasboras, but they shoot for cover as soon as I come close enough to get a decent shot. They are really cool to watch swimming as a complete school of 10 around the tank...just wish I could capture that..dont think there is enough foot traffic passed the tank so they are not accustomed to people up close and personal. :)

Yup I really need to...been so busy with work, being the festive season and all that time has just gotten away from me. Will take some pics on Monday...plant growth has been slow, but noticeable...doubt I will get a ground covering done in the time of the competition...or in the next few months for that matter, but definitely think things will progress nicely over time . :)

Took a couple of pics today, but still need to be uploaded. Haven't gotten around to doing a water change in a couple of weeks...really need to find the time to get one done some time soon. :)

Added a short fin Betta a week ago...he intrigued me so at the LFS that I had to take him home. :)

Looks nice Mark. Yeah, Bettas are the poodles of the aquarium world... Very endearing in an annoying sort of way:)

Looking good Mark, would love to see a side shot of the betta... looks like he has rather interesting patterns and colours.

FTS for the week...water change going to take place tomorrow...hopefully. :p

I tried to get some better shots of the Betta for you @Linxie but the problem is he is not photo shy at all and as soon as I try and get a side shot of him he swims up to the camera face forward...tried to sneak in 2 of him though... :O

Also tried to get an elusive shot of some of my strawberry Rasbora...they are still very skittish and hide when I come near the tank.

5 of the school of 10...

I also moved my only Red Cherry shrimp from my tank at home to this tank...but havent seen him since last week...I think he probably only comes out at night as he did back in the other tank :(

I really like the rocks, do you think you are getting enough light around the base of the log?

I was wondering the same thing this morning while looking at the tank...I think the staurogyne repens isn't getting as much light as it could in that left hand side under the log...as it definitely hasn't grown as much as I would have hoped in this time period.
