Last night I spent about an hour making my new cave with slate and gravel using glue gun (non-toxic, don't worry). Eventually it was done and Snyper said, "Let's soak the cave in BOILING hot water to sterilise it"... I say, "Good idea Stephen (Snyper)!" He goes off to the kitchen for a couple mins and comes back with my cave all melted at the bottom of the jug!

PS: Franna, I'm ROFLMAO (rolling on the floor laughing my a** off)!

Cleaned my tank this morning with the gravel cleaner, after i finished siphoning the water i pulled it out to a point where it drained and went out to empty the bucket, when i came back the gravel cleaner was in the tank again and was busy siphoning on it's own and had made a real wet mess on the floor.

oy lets see my stupid mistakes, when i first started the hobby i used to use the air hose as a siphon as my tanks where small and didnt think it was neccesry to buy a gravel vac. my tank was near the window so i would suck on the end of the hose until i got a mouthful of fishy water,*not pleasant* and would then put the hose through the window and let it drain into the garden, now this would take awhile as you can imagine so id go off and do something else and came back on more then one occasion to find the hose had slipped back inside watering the floor of my room rather than the flowerbeds lol. i eventually started putting a towel down.

oh and then last year when i moved back home i had bought new gravel for the tank and had it set up filled it and washed the gravel then poured the gravel in but because it was really fine black sand it came out in a lump and splashed me lol. my ma was watching and just shook her head lol. im a blonde so i call it as my excuse

After work....was cleaning my tank, turned off the power for the heater
(you see where im going with this)and took the heater out the water.

After cleaning i turned the power back on. After about 5 min i shouted at someone in
the kitchen complaining that something was burning!!!
I then realized that it was my heater still out the water!!! I was so worried that i did the
worst thing possible.......put it back in the water......BOOOOOOM!!!! glass literally flew at me. luckily i turn the power off again before putting it in the water.

Now i no longer have a heater for my fry tank so have to swop then around every once
    in a while....

when I do water changes I use a 80L and 60L container . I fill the 60L with warm water from my bathroom then carry it downstairs to throw into the 80L to get the right temp and to prepare the water .

while filling the 60L I forgot one had a hole it was this container .

I couldn't understand why it was taking so long to full but I wasn't botherd I was having a smoke . when I finally looked at the tiles I realised what happened . it was farked. took 30min to clean.

    that was the worst .

    cheers

A usual Saturday morning for me. I was siphoning out my fish tank water ( didn't use a gravel cleaner then) While doing so i wasn't really paying attention , I carry on and see the bucket is almost full. So I head to the toilet and am just about to throw the contents out when , I see something swimming a realized I had siphoned up a guppy into my bucket... . Luckily I realized in time otherwise I would be sitting here with one less guppy.
