On the packaging, there is no weight or volume.
According to the packaging, after adding 5 litres of water, your should get 8-9 litres of palm peat.

I just want to point out that these plants do not "require" an acidic substrate. There is plenty of information on the web indicating Toninas need acidic root base and you can only grow them in ADA AS. Yes, it certainly helps. But, look here:

I will defiantly be trying this in the week to see how well it does and if all goes well I will be redoing my 1.2m planted tank very soon

how many bricks will you need to do a 2m x 60cm x 60cm tank?

I would think that you would need 3 - 4 bricks..... try to get at least a 2 cm layer (after pushing it down) particularly at the back of the tank.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

Thank Prof will start to buy the supplies I need for my 2m tank at the end of the month
I know I am going off topic here but if you have this in your tank do you still need a lot of light or will it be ok for a low lit tank?

    No Gareth,

I do not think that you understand. Fertilization in the medium gives the plants the building blocks to be able to build up a plant. Light allows the plant to perform photosynthesis and this allows it to produce sugars, in other words energy. The plants must get energy from the light via photosynthesis and for this reason light and high light is essential.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

Why don't you phone Kompel, the producers of the PFP, in Johannesburg and ask them if they have a distributor in Potch of vicinity?

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

    Hi Dolphin,

For the Chemicult analysis, I would first google, it might be there.

To answer your second question you should go back in the thread, we have discussed this.

    Gareth,

Never heard of Forrest bed, except for the chimps in Ndjombe Stream National Park in Tanzania.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

this is what I get... The "Forest Bed" pictured to the left is a different brand from Eco Earth, but ultimately the same thing: ground up coconut husks pressed into bricks. You can often find both in a pet store, often with different prices, though I can't imagine why - they seem to be the same weight (though one brand makes a smaller, more dense brick than the other)

I get the home page of this outfit not the direct link to this product. What does it cost?
